Lets see how long one stays up
This is the edited version
no name calling no mention of mod actions
it was sent in full content days ago to the gods

I was contemplating a BIG time donation... possibly enough for an other server

I'm deserting...

I'll put my efforts into bit coins - THAT PAYS CASH
and funny it works ALL THE TIME
not when the wind is right like seti@home ...more like old folks@home

May be I'll come back in the future "IF" and when this click is GONE

Robert....
Why don't you just stay and try to modify your posting habits a bit?
I am trying.

And I do try to suffer my bans a bit more gracefully than I used to...LOL.

I still find it odd people feel the need to announce their leaving a site, forum, project, group, list, server, or whatever. Seems childish, if you aren't happy with someone or something email the people in charge. If they don't want to fix it you need to either adjust your view on things, like Mark has mentioned, or just leave gracefully. It's much more respectable.

I posted WHY I'm leaving - I'm only allowed to say so much
It is not without regret - I spent much effort for seti@home
I just added another machine at xmas just for crunching
I was ready to get off my wallet and do more.. but you can guess
I've been driven leave and for sake my passion by the ????
If you don't get it, well I guess you're one of the lemmings
I can no longer live with the promise of better

You could start your own project, f.i. there's so much to investigate.

Or build a robot.

Yeah I do know why, actually I usually don't. However this is another event here in which the same person has announced in fashion dramatica that they are either leaving or going to leave because they are unhappy with the project, he has never done it that anyone has noticed or felt and as far as I'm concern this is just another post in which he has finally decided to leave after announcing he is going to or is in god knows how many other posts. If this was someone important to the project, like a programmer or a project scientist I could understand it. I just don't see the justification in announcing you are leaving. Especially when it's someone who will ultimately end up coming back more than likely. If he does or doesn't, doesn't matter totally, I wish him well but dang dude.....

It's unfortunate that he feels like he is being run off due to differences in opinion or a feeling of being 'picked on', and it's unfortunate that he calls someone a 'lemming' because they don't feel that he is important, especially when in fact everyone here is supposed to be a 'lemming', do your job crunch stuff. That's all that is asked of you if you 'volunteer' to be apart of the project. If you no longer want to help it's fairly simple to disconnect from the project and participate somewhere else. Do we need an obituary forum for the members who have left us? I don't think we do, surely they exist somewhere other than these pages, just saying. /Forum Dramatica

Yes, your message is a waste, that's for sure.

Anyway, if people don't agree why deny them the freedom to post ?

AFAIK, Berkeley campus is known for their Free Speech Movement ... so i see no reason to censor it.

If anyone disagrees, there's always berkeley campus police to complain about it if you feel that your right to 'Freedom of speech' got denied here.

They WILL deal with it, that's for sure as it has been proven in the past ad i encourage you to forward your case there, if you got shut down by moderation.

I am sure that Mr. Ribbeck is welcome to post any time he wishes.

He seems to have a less optimistic take on events surrounding the project than some. But that is allowable...I have gone through 'less than optimistic' periods myself.

The determining factor (and I am slowly learning this....LOL) is HOW one wishes to express their 'less than optimistic' opinions.

One can state their case in a graceful manner, or be bombastic about it.

The latter means has been a favorite of mine, but is sometimes less well received by others.

So, I have been trying to drift towards the other approach.

That doesn't matter as long as it doesn't affect the posting rules.
He can state whatever he wants as longs as it's within the rules and as soon as he gets shut down without violating them, he has the opportunity to complain about it to campus police.

This has been done in the past and if the MODs just moderate him for that, Campus Police WILL deal with them (S@H) that's for sure...

Greetings Crunch3r,

Unless I misunderstood what you meant by the "Campus Police", I highly doubt that they have either the time or inclination to look into an event where someone gets "inappropriately" moderated on this forum. Just sayin'...

Keep on BOINCing...! :)
