Mornin' cafe dudes and dudettes :-) At about 90% wellness, just a lingering cough...back to school today. Delayed summer it would seem, 30C forecast today - I thought we survived summer with only a few hot days. @ K - je suis qui je suis |

Hello all. The gasoline prices went crazy today. I really hate E10. No one knows if it damages our engine but we have to buy it. Argh With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Hello all. We've been using E10 in the US for many years...I've never had a problem with it...My 2010 HHR is flex fuel so it can (and does) run on E85...Right now the mixture is about 60% ethanol in my tank. I'm sure that your cars are built to use E10 too...So i don't think it will mess up your engine. PROUD TO BE TFFE! |

Hello all. I´ve got a mail in my office. Its a inoffical warning that 75% of all engines produced before 2008 don´t cope very well with E10. I dont take the risk. And 99 is too expensive in my point of view. So i´ll use E5 so long i can get it cheap enough. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |

Hello all. We've had 10% since at least the early 90's...And now they are promoting E15...The Government has not yet ruled on whether or not it will be safe for pre-1990's car...Not sure if 15% will pass or not... PROUD TO BE TFFE! |

Hello all. I don't know about that warning. That "all engines" might include lawn mowers. All I know is what the owners manual says. Mine says it is okay. |

Tesco's in the UK are selling E5. Also it is not commonly known but Tesco's 99 super unleaded had 10% bio-ethanol added. When I tried a tank of it in the BMW Z3 it ran like a pig, I only use Shell V-Power now. Those vehicles don't seem to have the sophisticated fuel systems that Chevy's have...Because after a few miles my Chevy will be adapted to whatever percentage of ethanol i put in it...(up to 85%)...I really don't see any difference at all in the car i drive...But European vehicles may not be built to the same specs...Almost all modern US sold cars can burn E10...Unless of course they have a diesel engine. Trying out the new wireless keyboard. It works perfectly, thanks Dan :-) I am getting a stand that will put my laptop at eye level, which will make the keyboard less accessible...so in comes a wireless, bluetooth keyboard to save the day. Mornin' cafe people :-) je suis qui je suis |

Looking at all the issues you petrol powered guys have, I am pleased to report no such issues with my 4x4. The engine can run on mineral derv, 100% bio-diesel from esterified rape oil (or any amount between 10% and 100% cut with mineral derv), heating oil (28sec and 35sec) and cooking oil from the supermarket. I have run on all to these fuels and there is no effect on the long term engine damage or deterioration of the fuel line rubber. Indeed the only issue is the replacement of the micro level fuel filter after the first 1,000 miles, as all the old gubbins in the tank is loosened and caught. That makes mine a winner (oops wrong thread - D'Oh) It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

Our 1984 Volvo cant take any Ethanol mix at all but runs perfectly on regular unleaded which I think is 91 octane. |

My old Morris Minor 1098cc used to run comfortably on war time junk petrol (88 octane). I see the Fruit Bat has the right machine for unleaded, and it is 91 octane Monday (at least it is here). It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |
