Boy, look at all the cat food!!! :-) Our yellow hammers are back at the bird seed, and there is 3 males and 1 female in the garden (together with numerous sparrows, dunnocks, robins and a green finch. We currently have a large male pheasant tromping around the flower boarders in the back garden. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

Not in our garden, perryjay. It's a kat free zone, guranteed by our 4 dogs. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

Actually not. Sheila and I were talking about that. 27 years ago, when we moved in here, we brought 2 cats and 3 dogs. The neighbours had lots of cats as well. But, over the years as katz grew old and died they were not replace. I can only think of 1 neighbour with a cat, but most have at least 1 dog. It's good to be back amongst friends and colleagues |

Cats and Raccoons!! and Sand Cats! The Sand cat (Felis margarita), also referred to as the "sand dune cat", is a small wild cat distributed over African and Asian deserts. Amazing, never even heard of them till today; Amazing what you can stumble over on the net. Bernie. |

I like the raccoon with his little hands held out asking for something yummy! There is about 2 feet of snow on the ground here, but all the birds and wildlife are well fed. I've seen to that! Eagle Raccoon Lovers |

My backyard has had a major makeover and there was not a single raccoon hiding out there. Monday, Eric would like to send you Artemus and Izzy. These two are hanging around here much longer than any raccoons from any litter we've ever had before. Usually by the end of January we are in a raccoon "dry spell" because all our "guests" have found their own territories. Spirit is gone. Rufus is mostly gone. He pops by only about once a week these days. Interloper Mama is pretty much gone, although we did see her once two or three weeks ago. We still see Artemus and Izzy at least 5 out of 7 nights a week, which does not exactly thrill Eric. |

My backyard has had a major makeover and there was not a single raccoon hiding out there. It sounds like Artemus and Izzy have claimed your back yard as their territory. |

It sounds like Artemus and Izzy have claimed your back yard as their territory. To do that they would have to have their dens under our deck, and I have seen no evidence of that. I've watched both come in over our back fence too many nights to think that they have dens in our yard. It could simply be that their territories are so close by that it is simply no bother for them to drop by great great great great great great great great great great grandma's for dinner most nights. |
