I have said before, that if you take a hundred guys, put them on a mountain and tell them to survive, the first thing they do is make beer.

Think of the ones of us who wouldn't ever have been here if their parents hadn't discovered beer....

I went through this with a certain detractor some time ago........

As a well known imbiber, he inferred that I drove drunk.

I will state again, here and now, that I do not.

48 hours from now........should God be willing......I shall go back to work.

And, as Fields once said........I shall be sober.

Anybody doubts that, contact me at 9am CST on Monday.

I will certainly entertain your comments.

Until then.......Rember these worde......Chuchill.

Well, it's Saturday afternoon, I'm working on a computer, the weather is overcast, and I cracked a cold beer.

Cheers to all my friends, and welcome back Mark!

I prefer locally brewed Scotch Ale.

I've tried it as well as another local brewery's Scotch Ale and the second one can't hold a candle to it.

Does it taste of Whisky? I am fond of Scottish ales, never tried a Scotch ale.

Actually, there are a few high end Scottish ales (from Scotland) that are aged in old whiskey barrels. It is sort of like a pre-mixed bolier maker.

Whisky or whiskey? Yes there is a difference!

When we were up in Speyside a few years back we tried a different single malt each day - so 2-4 over 5 days some 30 tastings - I think we could have easily done that for two more weeks...

Since when do the brits leave the pub? Even when there was last orders there were lockins...

Reminds me I've got a dark wheatbeer waiting in the fridge.

There are still last orders, and there are still lock-ins - but even so, we usually leave before dawn....
