I just noticed that this machine http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=2555220 has an "error while computing" for all GPU tasks since the outage. Not sure how to find out what is wrong. |

setiathome_CUDA: No CUDA devices found Try a reboot of that system. You probably have a task stuck in memory or something else bothering the videocard. A reboot should clear that (just exiting BOINC and restarting it won't clear any problems with the GPU). |

No changes has been made in computer, just in last days all GPU units immediately they start give error: SETI@home Computation for task 06ja10ad.29591.11524.4.10.128_0 finished SETI@home Output file 06ja10ad.29591.11524.4.10.128_0_0 for task 06ja10ad.29591.11524.4.10.128_0 absent Wiktor |

All my GPU WU also Err with this msg: Your computers are hidden, please unhide them, without being able to see what hardware you have, what drivers you have, and what app you run, we can't really help you. Claggy |

GPU-Z can show you several Values (and the Temp) on the Sensor Tab. Helli A loooong time ago: First Credits after SETI@home Restart |

You may want to try falling back to an older driver. I believe some of the 190.xx series used less of your memory but since my memory isn't all that great anymore I'll let someone else recommend one. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |

i was getting success with 197.xx drivers but that was with XP/2003 OS on a GTX 8600/256meg card Win 7 has a new driver model WDM that can gobble up memory even with aero turned off although i though this was fixed for 200 series nvidia drivers so may be not I would try MSI Afterburner as a way to monitor you cards temp etc as you can apply a fan profile by temp - i.e. speed it up as it gets hotter - assuming its also a heat problem post back some temps with and without running SETI Tim |

I'd try changing the x32f app and dll's for the Stock 6.08 app and 2.3 Cuda dll's and see if if that combination works, it's no use rolling back to 190.xx drivers, the Minimum driver version is 197.13+ for x32f, once you're got the stock app installed, then you could try 190.xx drivers i don't recall anyone trying the x32f app on a 8400 GS during testing, an Ion yes, but that only seemed to have done 5 valid tasks, further tweaking of the app may be required before it'll run on a 8400 GS. Go point is was using the 2.3 cuda Can he use the win98me installer to get these or is there somewhere else he can download the old v0.36 installer? Cant see the old installer on the Lunatics site Tim |

Tim, They took the old 0.36 installer down because too many people with Fermi cards were using it and were turning in bad work. I think someone does have the old installer up on their site but I can't remember who. I'm sure they will post as soon as they see this thread. I thought the new installer had a check box where you could use the older DLLs though I can't swear to that. PROUD MEMBER OF Team Starfire World BOINC |
