So not only are they fake, but they just wouldn't work - at all! I'm wondering what type of cpu that one was? Some sort of "sochet"(intentionally misspelled here) 775 cpu maybe? Newegg from what I read replaced the cpus in question with real ones, After looking more closely at the label on the box(among other things I'll bet). Some people will try anything to make a buck. LOL @ Everyone. Living in New Zealand is very different. We use the metric system, our main two political parties are "Labour" (Dem.) and "National" (Rep.). Sheep outnumber humans 9:1. The outage for me occurs Wednesday morning. Wellington is the worlds windiest city, it's also the southernmost capital and it's where I call home. We hold Australasia's highest mountain. We have one of the worlds largest volcano's (Taupo Caldera), it is in the size range of Yellowstone Caldera, Siberian Traps and the La Garita Caldera. We get international product releases first (W7, Vista, iPhone). - Luke. |

LOL @ Everyone. And the US Navy doesn't make port of calls there anymore either, As the Navy won't reveal what type of weapons each ship may or may not have board(Nuclear or not) and New Zealand also last I heard doesn't want any Nuclear powered ships/subs in It's waters, Not like the US Navy has ever had a problem with It's reactors(not once that I know of). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Zealand's_nuclear-free_zone#Nuclear-free_zone_legislation And as such If New Zealand needs help from the Outside World, Like the ANZUS Treaty, Then New Zealand is SOL, Until the Nuclear Free Zone is rescinded. wiki wrote: Under the New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control Act 1987[30][2] territorial sea and land of New Zealand became nuclear free zones. The Act prohibits "entry into the internal waters of New Zealand 12 miles (22.2 km) radius by any ship whose propulsion is wholly or partly dependent on nuclear power" and bans the dumping of radioactive waste within the nuclear-free zone, as well as prohibiting any New Zealand citizen or resident "to manufacture, acquire, possess, or have any control over any nuclear explosive device." Similar provisions were made for biological weapons.[4] [2] After this Act was passed by the Labour government of David Lange, the United States government suspended its ANZUS obligations to New Zealand. Following consultations with Australia and after negotiations with New Zealand broke down, the United States reiterated that it was suspending its treaty obligations until United States Navy ships were re-admitted to New Zealand ports, citing that New Zealand was "a friend, but not an ally". Yes, we are also nuclear free. Murphy's Law "Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong." Even our equivalent of your Republican party supports nuclear free. - Luke. |

Well then Your country is own It's own then as I said in the last post. Nuclear ships power plants are manned by pros and aren't the same as civilian shore installations, Their better, Admiral Hyman Rickover saw to that, Their not slipshod, Nor poorly maintained or designed. Your Nuclear Free zone also applies to Nuclear Powered Royal Navy ships of the UK too I'd think. The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

The act applies to any methods of transportation from any country that is wholly or partly powered by nuclear fission. The Space Shuttle Challenger & Columbia were manned and controlled on the ground by 'pros'. Doesn't deny the fact that a 'fatal error' happened on both of those days. - Luke. |

They weren't Nuclear and NASA is a Civilian Agency and Contracts out some things, And Ice was the culprit there, After the next 4 flights, There will be no more Shuttle flights and they won't be sold to anyone outside the US I'd think. Besides You are comparing Apples to Oranges there. Besides NASA isn't the US Navy, Nuclear Power in the US Navy has never killed anybody, Sure We've lost a sub or two, Like the USS_Thresher, But that was a frozen valve, So the sub couldn't blow Her ballast(Sea Water) and the sub went below crush depth and all onboard were killed and It could have happened even without Nuclear Power. The Thresher imploded of course and is one of only two US Nuclear propelled subs to have been ever lost, The other was the Scorpion which was destroyed by one of Her own torpedoes. I don't think we'd survive nuclear free. Whether we like it or not it's our fuel of the future. Without nuclear power stations we'll have to go back to living in caves. Apparently we've used more than half of our North Sea oil reserves and rely heavily on gas imports both using undersea pipelines or tankers - this is making fuel very expensive here in the UK, so we need a sustainable alternative. We don't have the geography for enough hydroelectric, we don't get enough Sun for reliable solar and wind is a no go when we get times like now where high pressure is sat over the near by continent. I'm sure there are other options, but afford-ability is the problem right now. |

The first connotation I get with nuclear fission is that of 'dirty and radioactive'.But that's just my mindset. However, I must visit Chernobyl in my lifetime. When on the topic of nuclear, I always distinguish between nuclear fission, the low density, low efficiency, dirty, radioactive source. And nuclear fusion, the high density, high efficiency, clean, and non-radioactive source. We desperately (as a civilization) need to put more money into fusion R&D. That is our future. Right now, the National Ignition Facility is our only hope. - Luke. |

Greece had a no nuke policy also back in the late 70s. I knew guys in the US Air Force stationed there who said we had nukes there anyway. A kind of deniability on both counrys parts. Same as Japan, we have Nuke Carriers stationed there. When I was in the Air Force. I was a fire inpsector for a time . I had to inspect every building on the flight line. When i wernt to the missle storage building My escort told me I could not enter a cordoned off area of the building. A really big sign said dealdy use of force will be used if you enter beyond this point. I know my base had ATR 2A genie rockets Wich is the training version) for the F-106. So Im pretty dog gone sure we had the AIR2a nuke rocket also. I can see not letting the Russian navy in to your home port. But not the NATO powers. [/quote] Old James |

I understand your concerns, but Coal is dirty too and we burn that by the millions of tonnes and it will run out soon enough! Radon gas is radioactive and there are tens of thousands of homes in the UK that have to have radon traps built under them to extract the gas so it doesn't build up in the houses. It is naturally occurring, caused by uranium in the ground. You can read about it here: http://www.ukradon.org/ ) Can't get away from radioactivity if we wanted to really! |

Yeah Radon is everywhere, Sorta like the cartoon character: Savor Faire Hench Dog(Left), Savor Faire[French Canadian](center), Mountie Klondike Kat(Right) Seriously, Even transport ships may have to be propelled by Nuclear Energy one day, Similar to the NS Savannah and She was one of four nuclear-powered cargo ships ever built. NS Savannah passing under the Golden Gate Bridge http://www.atomicinsights.com/jul95/failure.html ATOMIC Insights wrote: In 1972, when Savannah was laid up, the cost of a ton of oil was about $20.00. A ship with a 20,000 horsepower engine using 1970s technology would have burned about 120 tons per day for a daily fuel cost of about $2,400. By early 1974, following the Arab Oil Embargo, a ton of bunker fuel cost about $80.00. That same ship's daily fuel bill would have suddenly increased to more than $9,000. Savannah's fuel cost would not have changed as a result of the Oil Embargo. If the oil-burning ship operated for 330 days per year (which is common in the world of merchant shipping), the increase in its annual fuel expenditure would have more than eliminated the difference in Savannah's operating costs, even with all of her inherent disadvantages.
