Message 973748 - Posted: 25 Feb 2010, 14:26:05 UTC - in response to Message 973739.

Every once in awhile the universe comes together just right...

My wife and I have this week off, and spent the last few days driving the backroads of southern Ontario, stocking up at local wineries, microbreweries, and farmers markets.

Now I'm sitting at home with a basement full of good wine, good beer, and good food, world class hockey on TV all day today, tomorrow and Saturday, and heavy snow on the way.

It almost makes winter bearable ;).

I agree with you there Bill. I'm headed to Toronto for a five day Conference and have pawned off all the coming snow (and my 2 girls) to others as I enjoy parking, conference and hotel all connected to the largest underground shopping area indoors! May even try to get into Gretzky's Bar for the Women's Gold Hockey Game this afternoon! If the stars all line up like they're supposed to I'll be cheering on Canada over the US at the Men's Game on Sunday in a private party at the Hotel. Sometimes things just work out right!!

Keep racking up the numbers as I probably wont get a chance to post till sometime next week. Maybe even pick a winner then? Who knows.
Rick

Winter? I thought spring has started?

Spring has started here a few times in the last weeks. It will probably be another month before it sticks.

7 - 3 Canada in the second.

Hard to believe but Canada hasn't beaten Russia at Olympic hockey since the 1960's. Maybe today is the day. :)

Oh yeah, it is the day!

And it gets better: Women's bobsleigh Canada wins gold and silver (the US picks up the bronze.)

Yeah, What do You know, Yer right Mac and here's a link to the story on SI:

Canadian women's curling team beat the Swiss to advance to the gold medal game tomorrow. Both teams played crappy today. Not so much Canada won as Canada made one less mistake. :P

Gold medal women's hockey goes this afternoon.

And I think It's on MSNBC down here, lovely, At least Bobsled is interesting, figure skating just doesn't seem to be all that interesting anymore to Me for some reason. Maybe in a previous life I was a hockey puck. ;)
