Since it seems to be a comm problem (somewhere along the line) pushing the button probably makes it worse for everybody.

Well I now have only 854 to upload...with this backoff it may never happen. Still have 384 that need to be reported. I wish I could make an app to push this damn button!!!

Not pushing it seems like a better option.

Pushing is rather pointless in any case, As there is no boom.

Of course in My latest estimate, I have about 4.75 hours to go, So I may be out around 12:30am. But the PC will just then try to upload and report as what else can It do?

Right....do you have 1000 on one machine waiting? Connecting every few hours and maybe getting lucky and one or two get thru is the better way? All last night and most of the day on it's own maybe 20 or so uploaded I have made 390 more upload just the few times I have sat here and posted and played with it. My slower machines are fine or just have a few like yours most likely do, I doubt your manager looks anything like mine.

Like I said before. You need a macro application.

No, mine doesn't. But even if it did I wouldn't be doing what you're doing and trying to justify it.

Where are the fish????

Don't try to punt the ball around with me.......I commented on this problem before most even knew it existed.

Hi, turned off NetWork Communications for 24 hours, now, former speaker is right, this is a DDOS* attack, BOINC tries to connect every minute, several (100) thousends of concurrent UPLoads, right now, doesn't seem the smartest thing to do, IMHO.
Still something to crunch, trying to connect isn't only a waste of time, it could be a network-killer.
Just my 2 (euro)cents :)

Don't you love it, the backoff kicks in yeat lets one remain uploading...As soon as that unit starts to upload it kicks it in the Backoff mode. If I downgrade to a version without this TOTALLY STUPID Project Backoff will I lose the work I have waiting?

Right now backoff or not the problem seems to be somewhere between Seti and all of US, So do nothing, As nothing for the moment can be done, Besides read posts Here or somewhere else and Eric is aware that there is a problem with uploads, I think He figured that out by looking at the amount or the lack really of any data flowing back in from US.
