It's not an internet "rumor", it's actually based upon the estimated end of the Mayan calendar, which to those who believe in it, that date is when the world is supposed to end.

Truth be told, 12/21/2012 is only one of the three possible end dates for the Mayan calendar. I don't recall the other two, but it all depends on which start date begins the Mayan calendar, and there seems to be some arguments as to when that was.

Me? I don't believe in any religious mumbo-jumbo.

And as a full-time, card-carrying redneck, I can attest to the fact that I alone helped increase total sales for Miller Brewing and James B. Beam Distilling Co. significantly back in '91 when that album came out and marriage #2 had gone Tango Uniform. :)
