I'm a proud MS user who likes most of their products. I love Windows. I use Internet Explorer and Firefox (mostly the Fox 99.9999% of the time). If I didn't have a technet subscription, I'd probably be using the latest copy of Open Office on all my machines, but only because the price is right. I used to use MS Works back in the day (1992/3).

Meh. I don't really get viruses on any of my machines (spare the one my father uses). Not a big deal to me.

I agree. I think the Microsoft hatred has gone to far. I still use many MS products, but I try and have some variety where I can.
I use Firefox for my web browser, but MS Office is by far the best productivity suite.
And for design I use Adobe CS4 Master edition.

As for viruses, get yourself a good anti-malware, anti-spyware suite such as Kapersky, and you won't have to worry about viruses at all. I've never had a virus on my 2 year old Vista laptop that I know of.

Setting aside all of the other issues....

Internet Explorer is simply the best target for browser exploits.

So, I use Firefox -- and NoScript, because most of the exploits involve some level of scripting.

I use OpenOffice mainly because it seems the most compatible with a wide range of MS and non-MS programs -- I particularly like the ability to export to PDF directly.

... and Thunderbird because I can fix the folders with a text editor, instead of the impossible-to-fix Outlook PST files.

I use Avast and Spybot Search and Destroy here and I like the Search and Destroy part, Hehehehe.

I use FF3 for browsing, Although I can activate IE8 within FF3 for Difficult sites, Also I use IE8 for Windows Update of course.

Okay, I have to say this because of a pet peeve... As I often take part in the Firefox community . I must ask you to try and not to use "FF" as the abbreviation of Firefox... Mozilla prefers FX, just like Google prefers you not to use "Googling" and Adobe prefers you not to use "Photoshopped".

- Also as a side note, I use FX3.7a1pre as my main browser, since I am alpha-testing nightly builds, so far it only has a few problems, memory usage isn't the best either.

Sorry Luke, But most users online I think refer to Firefox as FF as It's easy to type and such, I sometimes will type FF3 though. :D

Remember I'm an American, We beat the British Army and made them surrender over 200 years ago, But then the American Army back then was taught by a Prussian and the French blockaded Cornwallis from the Royal Navy.

But If U don't want to type FF, That's fine by Me too.

Billy better hurry up with that patch. I just heard a news story stating 3 or 4 countries are advising against using Internet Exploder.

And just what kind of site were you at? I have used IE since it came out and have never had a virus. My kids do but they visit questionable sites, like for cheats.

I don't know if it came from Internet Explorer but I do know my computer has a virus!
I just visited regular sites, although I got a warning one time when I visited a site that contains google gadgets, but I went ahead anyway. Maybe I shouldn't have done that...
