In my "pending" list I have many completed tasks in work units with the other task also completed. And i have noticed the same for the pending pages of other computers. But they are all still "awaiting validation". Usually these go through almost immediately. As all validation is done through "brono", is that server not working, It is still marked green in the Server Status page. Any info? Keith (P.S. These tasks "awaiting validation" all seem to have completed after yesterday (24th Nov) afternoon.) |

Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error will explain this. |

I receive the here above error code ! HTTP internal server error suggests that the problem is in California, rather than Belgium. So in answer to your question - Matt, Bob, Jeff or one of the other project staff. Don't expect them even to diagnose the problem for at least another 6 hours (it's not yet 4 a.m. there), and then it will take time for them to do whatever they have to do. |

I'm getting this from Seti, and have been for a few hours now: 11/25/2009 9:12:48 AM SETI@home update requested by user 11/25/2009 9:12:49 AM SETI@home Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. 11/25/2009 9:12:49 AM SETI@home Reporting 159 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks 11/25/2009 9:13:58 AM SETI@home Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error But: I CAN upload completed tasks... Any idea what's going on, and when it might be fixed? Thanks, Jon |

I don't think they ever fully recovered from the shutdown and things have been buggy since. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! |

Probably don't want to force them either or the message may really scare you. Seti is having server problems everything will most likely be fine in just a few hours when they get to work. If you force them you may get a red message telling you they are refused and this is OK. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! |

It's a prob with the big report file. My QX6700 could report ~ 100 results. But my GPU cruncher would like to report ~ 1,300 results and can't reach the scheduler and BOINC have the same upper mentioned message. Nearly since 24 hours no contact.. If this will continue, I need to detach/attach (like I done it few times in past) the GPU cruncher, for to have again a small report file for to reach the scheduler. Yes.. so if - please calculate ~ 58,000 Credits additional to my account. Ohh.. '$§$$%$%&%/&%"$$%&$%&'.. |

It's look like the forum is also involved. In the time I posted my upper message, this thread had only 3 messages (excl. my). Now I see.. 5 (other) messages. The last two before my are now shown. EDIT: Ops.. and a new one is shown.. hiamps posted two times. So 3 new messages. |

We had 3 thread s started with the same info. We'll be moving posts over if others start new threads In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

In my "pending" list I have many completed tasks in work units with the other task also completed. And i have noticed the same for the pending pages of other computers. I posted this message under a new heading of "bruno not validating". It was moved to this thread at the tail end and may not have been noticed. I cannot see any reference to the particular symptoms that I have found. Maybe everyone is presumed to assume it is caused by the "Http internal server error". Is this the sort of effect that would be expected by that? Has it already been noted? I had hoped my observation would have been hekpful. Keith |

Look back at Monday's technical news, everybody. The critical section reads: Back to the mysql database for a second - one thing we'll try tomorrow is moving mysql to commit-on-every-transaction behavior. Normally now it commits either once a second, or when the buffer is full. We tried this before and it was a major failure - the disks array on jocelyn couldn't handle it. But now we're on mork, where the logs are on solid state drives. Worth a shot. Normally we're processing hundreds of queries per second - so this new behavior will prevent up to hundreds of queries from disappearing during a crash, not to mention keep the replica in sync as well so we don't have to go through the painful exercise of recreating it every time the master goes nuts. So - they're running an experiment. They tried it before (on old, slow hardware), and it failed. They're trying it again on newer, faster hardware, but they're fully prepared for it to fail again. They warned us in advance that they were going to try. I'm perfectly happy to go along for the ride. "It'll be fun to try, though." |

I think they all got grouped because all problems reported are related to current server problems at Seti. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! |

Yes thats exactly why they were grouped together. In reality in haste we probably could have put them all under the Panic mode... thread. But this seems to grab everyones attention so for now its here. In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

FYI: My previous post is (semi-)inoperative, as R. Nixon used to say. I DID have my machine with 160+ WUs waiting finally go through OK (with zillions of red msgs about "already reported"). But my main machine, which has 400+ WUs to report, is still getting HTTP errors. So the system IS working, if slowly...at least, it's not completely dead. |

In my "pending" list I have many completed tasks in work units with the other task also completed. And i have noticed the same for the pending pages of other computers. I feel like a fish out of water mentioning this again in this thread, but that is where my question, which nobody else has mentioned so far, has been placed by moderators. I assume this lack of validations is due to the "experiment" that is running as has been mentioned. So, how often will validations now be made? At the end of each day? After a certain number of tasks have been waiting? Or what other time or reason? My pending file is slowly filling with more of my completed tasks in work units accompanied by other completed tasks "waiting for validation". Has anyone got an answer, please? None has been forthcoming so far. Keith |

It's 9:20 AM in Berkeley. They are probably just getting started working on the problem. Once they get a handle on it and figure out what needs fixing things will slowly get back to normal. It may not be working quite right until late tonight or tomorrow though as everybody will be trying to hit the servers all at once. All we can do is be patient, it will happen.
