My guess for RAC is around 22k... My AMD955 is running at 3.6Ghz (not 3.2 as @ stock) and temp is 53c by coretemp. Ambient is 23c currently. My GTX260 is running at approx 73c, and is running at 680/1500/2500. This is giving me an RAC of approx 17,000 at the moment, and we all know Team Blue is kicking Team Green's ass at the moment. I'll be suprised if you can't get it to 22k or more. I also think you should be able to get that cpu up to 3.8-4.0 Ghz stable. I feel that even though you have that monster cpu fan on board, you don't seem to be getting enough fresh air through the case. Seems to be running a bit hot to me. I'm no expert on the current Intel 920's, but 3.8 seems to be a fairly easily reachable figure. Just keep an eye on what you're changing, don't change too much at once, and don't jump by too big a setting at any one time. Happy to help, but I'm better when I've got the thing in front of me so I can see what's going on, and that ain't ever gonna happen in this case! LOL! Good luck, Gizbar. [edit] - I lied... I just checked my computers, and this rig is now running at an RAC of 18474! So maybe 22k is still a bit conservative! [/edit] A proud GPU User Server Donor! |

Thanks for the input Gizbar & Mark... I just tried a profile of bclk 176 (176x21=3696MHz) and a 1.232v of the vcore. Well, that gave me a BSOD on logging in to windows. Reboot, BSOD's on me during boot. Not stable. So, I lowered the bclk to 174 (174x21=3654MHz), and kept the vcore the same. So far (5 minutes), no problems. I'm not going to risk running S@H yet, so it's off to Prime95 for me. - Luke. |

My QX6700 B1(ES) runs at 3.52GHz(LGA775), I've heard of these getting as high as 4.00GHz, Once I get some more dust filters and the Corsair H50 I'll have to see about that and put the GTX295 inside too, Just to make life interesting for You overclocked i7/i5 owners. :) The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

Thanks for the input Gizbar & Mark... Prime95 is good! Gives you a way to test your machine's o/c with something that has known good answers. If it's stable on Prime95 you can pretty much bet it'll be stable on Seti. Can't check the GPU with it yet tho... regards, Gizbar. A proud GPU User Server Donor! |

Thanks for the input Gizbar & Mark... My experience with my 920 shows that it will run with no problems up to 1.42 or so of vcore.......so don't be afraid to up it a bit to get over stability problems...... I am still astounded that mine is running where it's at with only 1.2v.......sometimes less is more, I guess. I have run into this before.......whacked the heck outta vcore trying to make things run.....only to find out later that I was beating the wrong horse. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Don't forget all that the guess for Luke's rig's RAC is at 23:59 31st Jan. LOL Dave EDIT The first rig with 1 GTX260 in the top hosts is #49 Suturu's with 20700 |

My prior profile qualifies as 10 minutes stable, but it was about 20MHz short of the 1GHz OC goal. As I type this I am running Prime95 with no errors, so far, on a new profile. It looks like this chip doesn't like bclk's of 175 & 176, at vcores of 1.22-1.28. So, I've pushed the bclk up to 178 (178x21=3735MHz) and voltage, as it stands is 1.272v. It likes this profile so far, and temps on Prime95 aren't breaking 70c. If it stays stable on Prime95 for an hour, I'll open it back up to S@H. And, I'll have a 1+GHz OC! - Luke. |

My prior profile qualifies as 10 minutes stable, but it was about 20MHz short of the 1GHz OC goal. Once I've got the extra filters the 295 should do very well and that's with all 4 cores crunching between 3.52GHz and 4.00GHz... What will It be? I'd like to say 40,000 But I have no idea, last time My RAC was building and the dust killed the attempt here. Oh the cpu stock speed is 2.66GHz. :D The T1 Trust, PRR T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, 1 of America's First HST's |

How long has it been running to get there ? It's been running for weeks........ But I just over the last couple of weeks whilst on vacation had the time to tweak the GTX260 to something close to it's maximum.... Silly me.......I forgot to check the 'apply on windows startup' box in EVGA Precision. So every time I rebooted, the thing went back to default settings.......even the kittyman screws up sometimes. Managed to get a few Mhz here and there from the other rigs too. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Fingers crossed for you, Luke. Prime95 is a good test but I have found that S@H's Optimised Apps run my Q9450 cores up to 5 deg C hotter than the most demanding Prime95 runs so keep a close eye on those temps when you open it up to Seti. F. |

Question: How did you post your pics straight to the thread Luke,or can someone else throw some light on it. Dave |

Question: How did you post your pics straight to the thread Luke,or can someone else throw some light on it. He's got them stored on Photobucket and linked to them there......all you have to do is click the 'quote' button on anybody's post with a pic, and it will show you the linkage they used. OK thanks for that. You're quite welcome. Photobucket even makes it easy for you.....when you view one of your stored pics, there is a IMG tagged link that you can copy and paste in your post. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
