Is that good? Or bad?

Your scores are neither good nor bad. They are, however, much as I predicted they would be!

If I'm married to a god, does that make me a goddess?!!!??!!!!!???

I find it interesting how your and Dr. Korpela's scores are so far apart (except for herstory and lit). Classic case of opposites attracting.

Too bad there wasn't a rating for 'sense of hunour' because I would bet you two would be close there as well.

Had this problem only once, on the question regarding the carl sagan books. Of course I know him, but I don't own one of his books (and yes, I do have a bookshelf ;-)).

Just kidding, Eric. I was pretty sure you're kinda nerdy since I've read this. Wanna have my Sheldon-avatar? ;-)

Most of this tests on the net are just for fun. Also most of them are very simple in a way that allows you to easily control the result by choosing the appropriate answers. So don't take them too seriously.

Actually, we met in 1992 in a Story Reading group (people who get together each week to read aloud to each other). In my opinion, enrollment in such a group should confer you AUTOMATIC nerd status without taking ANY silly tests!

Anyway, initially it was probably not opposites attracting, but rather likes attracting. Of course it did not take Eric long to notice the appalling lack of electronics at my place. Not sure why that didn't send him running. Maybe it helped that he was a starving graduate student at the time and I fed him. Sort of like my stray-cat (stray-raccoon?) philosophy - feed them and they will keep on coming back! In Eric's case it was something like "come for the literature; stay for the pie."

Too bad there wasn't a rating for 'sense of hunour' because I would bet you two would be close there as well.

We do laugh often around these parts, but Kenzie - you know that question on the Nerd Test about having to choose between sex and your computer? I genuinely DO NOT WANT TO KNOW how Eric answered that question! Some things are better left unsaid...

Especially with Erics score, He must have worked on the test until He got the desired or almost desired result

Eric is incapable of cheating. He is the most honest person I have ever met in my life. I can absolutely guarantee that the scores he posted were his first time scores.

I didn't say He cheated, I just demonstrated that, He could have done what I did If He'd really wanted to and since He didn't(I trust Your word), I'll leave It at that, You got to admit, I'm creative and skilled in pushing a few pixels. :)

I don't need no stinkin' test. I make my living as a techno-geek, and spend all my spare time as a nerd. Always have, always will. Nuff said.

Can't find a link to it, since it was probably pre-Internet, but a Canadian trade magazine in the mid 1980s had a superb article on what happened to jocks and nerds. Just go to any hi-tech trade show today, and you can see what happened.

Harken back to high school in the late 1960s - the jocks were good looking, with nice smiles, a little dumb maybe, but top of the ladder. The nerds hid in the shadows, trading jokes based on the periodical table, quoting Heinlein and Tolkien to each other.

Fast forward to a modern high tech trade show. The jocks now are all salespeople, sucking up to the high-tech shakers and movers, using their nice smiles and good looks. And who are they sucking up to, these VPs of Technology, Directors of R&D, senior researchers, staff scientists, etc? Grown up nerds, with real jobs. Revenge is sweet.

I guess everybody who's running seti has to be at least a bit nerdy. Don't think so? Take the test and find out: http://www.nerdtests.com/ft_nt2.php

Here's my result:

And mine:

This is after answering the questions honestly; I could go back and answer them the way I think they want them answered and get a completely different result.

So you are nominating Angela, who has nominated herself as "Goddess" and as "normal" by me. Seems to make sense actually.

Eric will have to deal with her.

I second that nomination.

All in favor?
