On 20th September 1967, the last of the great passenger liners, the QE2, was launched by the Queen at John Brown's Shipyard in Clydebank. The Yucca Mountain Repository is in Nevada, and has basically been scrapped. New Mexico has WIPP, the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant, which is supposed to be for low level nuclear waste. WIPP is open, but has had some problems but some waste has been transferred there.
