Message 949576 - Posted: 25 Nov 2009, 2:19:02 UTC - in response to Message 949553.

I watched a safety video today as a part of first aid training that unfortunately featured a raccoon and a person who stupidly got too close when the raccoon felt cornered (and paid for his stupidity by getting bitten).

No one ever accused some people of being to smart.

Isn't it amazing just how uncommon common sense is?

I think common sense is common. Application of common sense is uncommon.

Saw a couple of coyotes on the way home from Christmas this year. Standing next to the road watching the cars go past.

Has anyone seen the new Sears Optical commercial where the "visually challenged" woman lets a raccoon into her house, thinking that it is her cat? Very funny commercial.

I've noticed that raccoons have figured in several commercials here in the US over the past couple of years. A while back a fast food chain featured raccoons commandeering a car and going out for "treats". Before that, Lazy Boy used raccoons to sell lounge chairs.

I may have missed my calling in life. Perhaps I should have been a Hollywood Raccoon Wrangler...

Well, Eric and I got rabies booster shots this morning, so I guess I'm ready for that career change now. Next summer's crop of babies will be more easily trained than our current adult visitors.

Wouldn't that be fun to put on a tax return? Occupation: Raccoon Wrangler

Not certain about that. You might be able to qualify it as a business expense, but you might have to put it under medical with that horrible minimum% of income threshold.
