This computer has a GeForce 9300 GS and a GeForce 8500 GT, and it is already processing 2 WUs at a time with these cards successfully. Raistmer's optimized GPU client lists The GeForce 8500 GT as having "multiProcessorCount = 2." Does anyone know if this card can process two WUs simultaneously? Should I up the number_of_GPUs file to 3? |

The multiProcessorCount is the amount of processors inside the GPU. One GPU can do one task. It will just run it parallel on the amount of processors inside the GPU, therefore speeding up the calculations so much. You shouldn't compare it with having really 2 CPUs inside the GPU. You don't. If you want to run multiple CUDA tasks, you need multiple GPUs. |
