Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I run Seti@Home because human history shows that when two cultures meet, it is like when two tectonic plates meet: One has to go underneath the other. If there are extraterrestrial civilizations out there I would like the government to know about them so it can prepare.
2. The project is extremely well done. I am very proud to be a contributor to such an worthwhile effort.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
