It's raining outside, it's cold, and I have one of my finals today. Early Childhood Education final is in one hour. Wish me luck.

Luck...

Message 840251 - Posted: 15 Dec 2008, 17:48:21 UTC - in response to Message 840217.

Sunday night shift almost over...I win

That is definately a win...

Did you get affected by the ice storm??

Nope--a bit of snow but nothing else. It really hit to the East of us.

(I still win, nyyaahh)

We just got pounded by rain...and now the temps are going to drop. Can you say skating rink???

Tomorrow morning's gonna be interesting....temps are supposed to drop down into the single digits over the next 8 hours or so......

Couldn't get into work this morning...locks frozen up...I had to take a torch to them to melt the ice and unlock the door...

And as an aside...check out my # of posts...kinda wierd, eh??

Been there done that. I usally just carry a lighter. Heat the key and that will usally thaw the lock. Once thaw'ed get some de-icer into it. It always prevented the locks from freezing for me. Oh and be glad it's not Friday.

Tried that...but when the wind chill is -25F, the heat kinda goes away fast...

I remember one time that we had some padlocks frozen up like that. The boss decided it was going to be less expensive to just replace the padlocks. It is truly amazing what a 3lb hammer will do to a padlock.

Some of us would rather not have too much snow sticking to the roads...

We HAD alot of snow sticking to the roads...the rain took care of that. Now it is ice sticking to the roads. The main roads are clean, but driving down side streets is like driving accross a plowed field....

Well, one final is done. 52 Questions, on scantron. I think I did well.

The ground here is still too warm here, Maybe after dark in few hours. The Cajon pass though had/has snow, But that location is higher up and next to the mountains.

Meanwhile the Barstow CA Rite Aide Pharmacy is closed cause the Pharmacist is snowed in. So no pills for Me until maybe Tuesday, maybe.

Scantron is a form where one fills in a bubble in number two pencil on the form one bubble per question. The test is multiple choice, so if you wanted "A" for the first question, you would fill in the bubble for "A" next to number one on the form.

The teacher then has a scantron key that is fed into a computer. Next he/she scans in the students' tests and the computer marks off any incorrect answers with a red mark next to the number of the question.

This makes things very simple for the teacher. No hassles, no essay questions, no spelling or punctuation...

Oh, those. I was attempting to make scantron into the subject of the test instead of the technique.

It is almost time for my winter round trip 2/3 of the way across the country. It looks like fairly good weather along the route this weekend -- the worst appears to be rain, and I hope it STAYS that way.

AAAGGGHHHHH! (Leans against the back of his seat breathing heavily)

I had almost forgotten that...now I'm having evil flashbacks.

Bad, bad Scantron!

(but I still win)
