Message 830507 - Posted: 14 Nov 2008, 20:18:52 UTC - in response to Message 830506.

Whenever I cook, I have to watch out for my kitties. They are always underfoot. Should see them when I make anything with tuna. The moment they hear the can opener, they are at my side.

Ahhhh yes......it's very hard for me to have any tuna for myself on a sandwich without being stormed by frantic kitties.......
Even if I manage to open the thing without making too much 'can opener' noise.....the kitties can smell a tuna a mile away......how can the aroma go that far that fast? I'll never know.....but the kitties do......

I bought Tuna to try and help Angel, As every once in a while She spits up some food and man does It stink too. The colors the same as what I feed Her, Maybe It's the IAMs dry cat food?

Kitties have finicky stomachs sometimes........
It can be the flavor of kitty food that day, or maybe they are just ready to cough up a little furball at the moment.....ya never know......
I trade off the kitty's food flavors once in a while.....although some vets say you should not vary their diet......
Their lives are so much shorter than ours......can you imagine eating the same thing for years on end????
Their favorite right now is new Science Diet 'Nature's Best Ocean Fish and Brown Rice Adult'........boy...did the gurls plow through that 6 pounds of kitty food fast........

Message 830508 - Posted: 14 Nov 2008, 20:21:43 UTC - in response to Message 830503.

For Mark and all kitty lovers.

Beechwood Bengals in Martinez, CA.

My favorite site is still Verismocat...... Home of the proud and regal Maine Coon.......my favorite breed.......
They can and often do become very large kitties......but with the disposition of the softest little furball you have ever met........I think one of the world record holding big kitties is still a Verismo.....

Those are definitely beautiful cats. I'm just partial to the Bengals.

Hey......everybody had their fav......have you ever been to a cat show and seen a 25 pound Main Coon in person? Or had one handed to you? Instant kitty love.............

Unfortunately, I've not been to a cat show at all. (snif) I'd love to go to one, though.

I do have three kitties. Two are with my ex, for now. One is with me here at my parents' place. Sheba, a DSH Brown Tabby female is the one with me. She is 8 years old and healthy. Cali, a female Calico and Einstein, a mix of Siamese and Russian Blue. He has the body and attitude of a Siamese but the gray coat of a Russian Blue. Cali is 4 and a half years old, Einstein is 4 years old. Both of them are healthy.

Einstein is a rescue kitty from an agency. Sheba I rescued myself from San Jose when a former roommate said that if I didn't take her with me he'd have her put down. So, of course, I took her immediately to my parents' place where she now has a large back yard to play in and a warm bed with me at night.

Sheba gets Science Diet Oral Care. She loves the large kibble bits. Einstein and Cali got, (when I still had them), Science Diet Indoor formula. Cali and Einstein are indoor only kitties. Sheba is indoor/outdoor.

Oh...they get that for a treat once in a long while.......and the packed in water version, not the packed in oil.....
That's why they go so crazy when they sniff it......it's a rare treat for them.....

Cali and Einstein also got the tuna in water treats from me occasionally. Now, whenever the can opener is used, they come running. Even when the can is only a can of soup, they think it is a can of tuna for them.

Not about cats at all, but Stealth Eagle had posted some fire pictures. In case anyone is interested, we got a big one going on in the area. Here is a nice evening shot. If I go off line today, you might be able to guess why.

Nope, Sheba is outside. This is her playtime. She won't be in for about five more hours.
