My daughter was just watching a Kids TV show called "Lazy Town", some of you may know it. Well in one of the scenes where they where in "Pixels" house on the monitor behind him was non other than the Seti@Home screensaver!!! The episode was "Trash Trouble" if anyone can get a screen shot. Maybe we should all keep an eye out and see if we can spot Seti out and about in other places, TV, Film and the like. James Lawson-Smith www.boofly.com |

I (or my kids) have seen it on TV some month ago as well here in Germany. That was a good advertising for this great project. |

I have heard of it only once in Norway.. It was a friend of mine, who knew I was into this who told me he had seen a interview with someone from/about Seti in the Norwegian main chanal. Back then (last year sometime) i searched the chanal sites on internet and found it was a part in a scientific program that is well known here. Im sure a lot of people saw it, but how much it increased the Norwegian participation is not known i guess ;-) Anyway, it was great to hear it was noticed of someone. |

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread to see how many different places we can can spot Seti. In Films, TV Shows, The News, WebCasts, etc. If we can show people how widely known Seti really is then maybe we can get more people on board and make them realize it is not just Geeks that are a part of the Seti community. I made a post myself in another thread Seti@Home Appears on TV!!! that gave me the idea for this one. Note: If you post images please try and give credit where it is due. Would any magazines be interested writing an article on the subject? Especially with the new AstoPlus. James Lawson-Smith www.boofly.com |

I wrote the producers of The Big Bang theory once to suggest that it be used there, but I don't guess they ever decided to act on it :( Maybe if enough of the community wrote and emailed them maybe we might get somewhere. James Lawson-Smith www.boofly.com |

How long ago was the episode in question made? Because, unless i'm much mistaken, that is the old pre-BOINC screensaver. Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |
