Bill O'Reilly is the William F. Buckley for our generation of violent conservatives. And as Colbert reports, Fox news gives both sides of every story: The presidents side and the vice presidents side. I know abu Ghraib is old news, but I was just listening to an NPR All Things Considered story about it. Did President Bush say "we don't torture?". I think it is safe to say that was a lie. Bush should be impeached or tried as a war criminal. All the congress folk who voted to support the Iraq invasion should get the same treatment. Hence, they won't put their own neck in the noose by impeaching Bush. Too bad. |

Bill O'Reilly is the William F. Buckley for our generation of violent conservatives. Let me clarify this for you. Kucinich is a nut. Colbert is a hack. Funny guy, but still a hack. And to quote the man who runs America, Bill O'Reilly is Ted Baxter. Any questions? |

I thought I posted my thoughts in a respectful manner, I don't think I deserve to be yelled at when expressing my opinions. Ted Baxter was a fictional character on the sitcom Mary Tyler Moore. He was played by Ted Knight. Ted Baxter has become a symbolic figure, and is often used when negatively criticizing media figures, particularly news anchors who are hired for their style and appearance rather than their journalistic ability. Does that sound like O'Reilley? . "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." - Dr. Seuss |

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and all the rest of the "cooks" should simply be exiled to Baghdad. (After being tried and found guilty of crimes against humanity, of course.) They could ride over on the same plane with the GITMO prisoners we'll repatriate. Sort of like the movie "Con Air" only better. "Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living, that's something else." (Han Solo) |

I thought I posted my thoughts in a respectful manner, I wasn't yelling. I was giving you my opinion. Ted Baxter was a fictional character on the sitcom Mary Tyler Moore. He was played by Ted Knight. Yes, it sounds EXACTLY like O'Reilly. (Brilliantly played by the late Ted Knight, by the way.) O'Reilly is not a conservative. But, like Colbert, he also happens to be a hack. I don't think O'Reilly has any real convictions. He doesn't believe in anything. It's all schtick designed to grab (Abu Ghab?) ratings. An empty suit. And don't get me started on his dearth of understanding of basic economic principles. Pathetic. Oh yeah, and the man who I quoted who called him that? Rush Limbaugh. Check it out in the latest cover story of the New York Times Magazine. |

Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, and all the rest of the "cooks" I didn't know they could cook! They should all start a reality show on Food TV. :) |

Sessions of the House of Representatives are broadcast live on C-SPAN (check your local cable listings for channel) and streamed live via the Internet (www.cspan.org). The article of Impeachment will deal directly with President Bush fraudulently obtaining support for an attack on Iraq by creating a false case for war. Full details of the Article of Impeachment will be available after they are read on the floor of the House by Congressman Kucinich. Please spread the word and continue to circulate the online petition that Congressman Kucinich will personally present to members of Congress. And yet, all you ever want to do is take ever increasing amounts of choice, power, and money away from individuals and hand it to the gov't. You actively SEEK to have people such as those you regularly denigrate be granted more power by force of law--then you complain about the fact that those people have what you gave them. Smart plan. Apparently their best excuses are that everything is okay if someone else did it first, and the President can do whatever he wants during this phoney non-existant "war on terror" that has been used to shred our constitution. Bush won't be impeached because they don't have enough evidence of any impeachable offenses to garner enough votes to do so. Clinton, on the other hand, foolishly handed that to them on a silver platter. Why do they not have enough evidence? Because many of the complaints are little more than SOP for the gov't. Most of the things people complain about are mundane, everyday occurrences. Cordially, Rush elrushbo2@theobviousgmail.com Remove the obvious... |

I guess you didn't listen to the charges and evidence, As for my thoughts on socialized medicine: I guess I just woke up to the fact that our government doesn't act in our best interest. A far cry from saying depleted uranium rounds are not a health concern. I'll never understand how you can stand by that position .|. I guess you didn't listen to the charges and evidence, I guess you didn't read my point. I know what the evidence is, and my point remains the same: Bush won't be impeached because they don't have enough evidence of impeachable offenses to garner enough votes to do so. As for my thoughts on socialized medicine: No. It never has. It never will. Because there are no principles (and therefore few limits) guiding gov't action, it acts according to who can convince it of some dumb BS that they just can't live without. Sometimes you get a few food stamps, lots of times you get war and corporate welfare and the CIA and the WHISC. It acts according to the interests of itself and and of those who can convince it of anything. In practice, that means it sacrifices everyone to the few--frankly, it sacrifices those that can afford it the least, to those that can afford it the most. Like Mark with his silly "nationalize the oil companies" plan (oops, Shell isn't an American company...) or you, that wants to hand actual monopolies, enforced by law, out like candy--what you see around you is the result of other people doing exactly that. A gov't that preys on individuals, crushes them with taxes, regulatory burdens, and endless meddling in their lives--all the while driving costs up. A far cry from saying depleted uranium rounds are not a health concern. I'll never understand how you can stand by that position. Can you even read? You, like many others, seem to want to cling for dear life to your erroneous and silly ideas about positions that I haven't taken. I never took the position that you stated. What I said, repeatedly, was that DU and DU dust are no more a health risk than many, many, many household chemicals that we deal with every day. Chemicals that are, and this is important, NOT INTENDED TO BE INGESTED. In fact, DU is FAR LESS dangerous than many of these chemicals that are under your sink or in your garage. Drink bleach, ammonia, rat poison, gasoline, detergent, pesticides, motor oil, et cetera ad infinitum and you could be dead within minutes. Do the same thing with DU, or DU dust, and it could take months or years to show any effects, and it might not show any, even then. Letting your kids play on a burned out armoured vehicle is just as stupid as letting them splash around in gasoline or pesticides.
