Try some of the other BOINC projects out while waiting for more WU.

Heck, jusst sign up for cp.net and you will likely never run out of work ... :)

I have WU for SETI@Home, LHC@Home and cp.net ... they can be down for a week and I probably will still be working on something else. Heck the Mac has two cp.net models ...

Rachel: Everyone's running out of WUs... this is because
(quote)
September 22, 2004
Both the transitioner and the validator have fallen behind. We are determining whether this situation is because of a software or hardware bottleneck. In the meantime we need to allow these programs to catch up so the scheduler is off over night. We are in the process of obtaining faster hardware for DB server.
(/quote)

Don't worry if you run out of units, and if you do run out, go to another BOINC project.

WHY?? because then you don't have to CHECK when the SETI server is back up... you just have to let BOINC check for you (though if you take that route, set your secondary project to a _much_ lower number than your SETI (assumed to be at 100).. like 5 or 10)

I have no SETI units left, but that's what CP is for!!! Yeah massive WUs!!!

I saw the message and did not know what the transitioner was.I knew the validator was the server thing that checked results etc.I am new to Boinc and am still learning. It's great to see the results thing catching up.Had about 200 added to my stats so far today.

Happy Crunching

Hi Rachel, it's more an issue of the scheduler being turned off. With the scheduler off, no work can be transferred.

Ahhhhhh! Animated GIF arrows attack!

I like the daily/weekly/monthly graphs over at boincstats.com better, though setisynergy is good if you just want to quickly see your position.

==========

According to the Site Stats Page the Scheduler is back up, I managed to get all my Finished WU's turned in. I had to keep Hammering on the Update Tab to do it though.

I couldn't get any more work either, not that I really need any right now, I've got enough to last a few days yet...

The Site is really slow right now and it wouldn't surprise me if it went down completely before the night is over...

according to the server stats page the scheduler is running and the DB stats are : Database status
State Approximate #results
Ready to send 799,056
In progress 2,834,864
So I should be able to get more WU's but the scheduler keeps saying no work available. :( A couple hours ago it said there are 1.3 million ready to send. This tells me that some people are getting work but not me

Last night two of my boxes ran out of WUs. Now they have a well-deserved break. However I just had a huge bunch of WUs on this box so I guess WUs flowing again.

If I hade six hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend the first four sharpening the axe.
