Message 746726 - Posted: 2 May 2008, 1:27:02 UTC - in response to Message 746725.

Hello Daniel. How are you?

Feeling full right about now...Dinner was chicken fried rice...and i ate way too much...How about you Albert?

Sounds Delicious! My day was going well, until about an hour ago. I have a recliner that finally broke and I decided to fix it. A bar in it broke so I repaired it and reattached the springs. Once the springs was reattached there was a surprising amount of force behind the metal bar. The bar came lose smashing my finger. This resulted in a nasty cut and an unpleasant break in the bone. The good news is that it wasn't all in vain; the chair is fixed and is like new :)

I hope the repairs go well...on your finger.

The worse part is this isn't the first, or second for that matter, time that I have broken this same finger in the exact same place. I guess I am bit of a klutz :)

GoodMorningAfternoonNight? to all in this thread...visible or lurking.

Hey Jeremy!...Is Reno still shaking?...We've had a couple wee little aftershocks a 3.3 today and 2.6 yesterday...I'm hoping your ground is settling down too.

Hey Dan,

Sorry, had to run up to work, and then over to my neighbors for a bit. Anyhow, we've had some small shakers, but they said its calming down. Thank goodness.

I bet you are! I can only imagine that it would began to get a little inconvenient having the Earth constantly shake.

It's hard to put contact lenses in when there's an earthquake going on.

hhmmm.... I must say that I have never been in an earthquake. I've been in just about everything but an earthquake for that mater; an F5 tornado, hurricane, blizzard, flood, but not an Earthquake. I do know that I hate snow and cold, but I would say that snow is probably better than an Earthquake.

If you had snow...and an earthquake going at the same time...It would be kind of like one of those snow globe things you shake and make it look like it's snowing.

You can keep your tornado's and hurricanes. LOL Don't want any of those either. Never been in any, don't want to either.

Lukily I live in an area that doesn't get many tornadoes and doesn't get any hurricanes, was in that on a vacation. The tornado was quite devastating and I hope that I will never have to be in another one. Luckily it missed me by about two miles.

That is lucky, to say the least. about 15-20 years ago, my family moved my aunt from Garland Texas up here. Saw some Tornado's from a distance away, thank goodness.

Anyhow, time to turn in, goodnight folks.

4.2 earthquake shakes Borrego Springs area

May 1, 2008

BORREGO SPRINGS: A magnitude 4.2 earthquake rattled the desert 14 miles north-northwest of Borrego Springs last night.

The Sheriff's Department received no reports of damage or injuries.

The quake was recorded at 8:55 p.m. and was followed by a magnitude 2.4 tremor at 9:38 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

North County Dispatch and Cal Fire dispatchers said they received no calls about the quake.

===

There's so much shaking that goes on here you're more likely to think it was a heavy truck driving by than an earthquake.
