To quote my post in NC from last night..... I have been having wonderful results with Seamonkey... It's the continuation of Netscape 7.2, before they stripped out the email client in Netscape 8.... Mozilla with the old friendly Netscape face......... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

There are quite a lot 'browsers' and everyone has it's PRO's and CON's . Any browser that supports ActiveX is dangerous. If you can "neuter" ActiveX completely in Internet Explorer, then it's safe to use. I only use IE on sites I've designed. I use Firefox for everything else. If you run FireFox, the NoScript plug-in is highly recommended (as is the Webmaster plug in, if you do site design). |

IE and Firefox. Also use FIREFOX 2.0.0.12, think it is the latest version. Sometimes i use I.E. 7.01 And in rare occaisions OPERA, version NOT known @ the moment. And you can port a version for your 'cellphone' ;). NETSCAPE isn't availeble 'here*', at least it's difficult, obtaining a free, NOT too old version. *=All versions, which still are availeble, must be PAYED FOR |

If you are looking for Netscape....try Seamonkey... I use it to replace Netscape 7.2, which got too old to work correctly with some websites...... This looks just like Netscape, but is based on current Mozilla code, and includes the email client...... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Firefox, please.... or "Iceweasel" as it's known in the Debian distribution. Here's what the real world is using based on hits to our site during the first 3 weeks of February... |

You're welcome..... I think it is unkown to most...... I can't remember the fellow Seti user that turned me onto it a while back when I was having problems with my old Netscape 7.2, but I thanked him profusely at the time, both because I didn't want to get used to a new browser, and mostly because I didn't want to change email clients...... And this code is being kept up to date...I believe the current release is only a few weeks old..... "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

Firefox, please.... or "Iceweasel" as it's known in the Debian distribution. As i have only WINDOWS on my 3 PC's (=10 cores)with an avg. off 2000MFLOPS per CPU, eqauls 10 Giga Floating Point Operations Per Second. So i have to make a fresh start with LINUX, have used UBUNTU 6.4 and now have 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon).Ganno put in my P D820,2.8GHz(Smithfield),4GiGDDR2 If you compare this, to you what we had then ? F.i. 8 years ago ? PENTIUM 4 was HOT, FAST, PENTIUM 3 more common and last but NOT least P2;350MHz.(HP VECTRA)etc. |

I use Firefox on my PC and Mac 99% of the time. Some features on my ISPs site (Bigpond)only work with IE. Microsoft Downloads only work with IE (funny about that hey?) |
