Sparkling cities May 7, 2008 Yellow Tail wines asked visitors to its Web site to choose America's top 10 “sparkling cities.†These are the winning cities, and the reasons they were chosen: 1. Las Vegas: a 24-hour city know for glamorous hotels, shows and nonstop gambling. 2. Los Angeles: a place where fantasy becomes reality and where glamour is the rule rather than the exception. 3. Martha's Vineyard: a haven for visitors seeking refuge from chaotic lives among quaint towns and pastoral scenery. 4. South Beach Miami: miles of sun and sand, salsa music and fresh seafood. 5. New Orleans: home to the Mardi Gras and Bourbon Street, jazz music and a diverse culture. 6. New York: The “city that never sleeps†is a multicultural mecca known for endless energy. 7. Orlando: the home of Walt Disney World, a Sea World and Universal Orlando, it's a place to let the imagination run wild. 8. San Diego: full of the history of Spanish settlers, it also has miles of beaches and a Mediterranean climate. 9. San Francisco: famous for it's charm, great cuisine and an avant-garde culture. 10. Santa Monica: located along the Pacific Coast, it has upscale couture, gourmet cuisine and urban walkways. SOURCE: Catalyst Public Relations me@rescam.org |

Sparkling cities Interesting! I'd move Martha's Vinyard down to No. 7, it's a bit too sleepy for "Sparkling" No.4...and New Orleans has to go down to the bottom of the list unfortunately, it just isn't what it was. I didn't realize that San Diego had that many beaches. Do you go often? Another good catch, Misfit. Thanks!!! :]] |

I didn't realize that San Diego had that many beaches. Do you go often? Not so much anymore. I spent my summer vacations and college years living in Pacific Beach. I would love to get back there. There was no party like the Pacific Beach Block Party. Always in May but unfortunately always on the first Saturday of final exams. Too bad it was shut down by the City because of too many jerks abusing alcohol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Beach,_San_Diego,_California Garnet and Mission. The corner of corners. me@rescam.org |
