I think most countries that get US TV or Hollywood movies have heard of Thanksgiving. e.g. The Simpsons or "Planes, Trains & Automobiles"

If I am not mistaken Canada also has a Thanksgiving day, but I am not sure when it is. I can have an answer for you on Saturday if you would like.

Halloween is not a holiday per-say it is more of a fun day for the kids, no time off for this one. Thanksgiving on the other hand is a holiday and we do get time off for it.(leastwise most of us do.) The next holiday is Christmas and then New Years.

Hmm.. We do have this "potato-holiday" in october.. now its just called autumn-holiday..The kids are free from school for a week. Then there is nothing until christmas. Wery boring for them of course..but then is of course all december a kind of celebrating, so i dont think its necessary with any complaints ;-) Will you eat a bit turky for me then..since i dont have any? hehe (this means it will be even more for you - as you have the excuse to eat for a norwegian viking ;-) pPp

I am part viking as well. Direct descendant of William the Conquer. I will be most glad to have some turkey for you. And cranberry sauce, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and various other items including Pumpkin pie.
