Is quoting the Koran itself abusing a religion?

Let not the Unbelievers think that our respite to them is good for themselves: We grant them respite that they may grow in their iniquity: But they will have a shameful punishment. ~ Qur'an 3:178 ;)

Jeffery, I asked a few questions of old friends back east and, weird thing, your name is known. I guess you are not paranoid because they really are out to get you.

Who would have thought? ;)

No. It's not. However, implying that you would use it as nothing more than toilet papaer could be construed as abusive.

You're quite correct, in this case I was wrong. I've requested the post to be deleted.

If I do run out I'll use the Op/Ed sections instead.

On a German site arguing against the Koran and the Islam I found a lot "Koran quotations" supposed to tell the readers "the truth about the Islam". Looking them up in the Koran itself, I saw that almost the half of them (the most violent ones) were quoted wrong, or even were invented (for example, there were verse numbers not fitting into the numbers of verses in the surahs, or some "verse quotations" totally in opposite to each real translation I looked up).
IMHO such arguments come from people full of hatred and ignorance thinking that their readers are too zany to question what they say and to look up what they quote.
Unfortunately, mostly they seem to be right :-(

Now I'm beginning to understand why the 'evil-doers' demonize this little 'fairy tale'... and attack it with such venom... ;)

Since something else just ... disappeared ... I'll say it here. "Most of you humans subscribe to this policy of an eye for eye, which is known throughout most of the rest of the GALAXY for its stupidity. Your buddha and your christ, they had quite a different vision, but no one's listened to them very much, not even the buddhists and the christians ... ."

Maybe you're not familiar with this phrase:

'aggressive cry baby'

They provoke with venom, then cry over a pin prick...

It's quite the juxtaposition... ;)

Just a little pin prick?

"I do believe it's working!"
"Good."
"That'll keep you going through the show. C'mon, it's time to go."
