Well....
It's official now.
After 7 years, many cpus, sticks of RAM, mobos, and almost 5.5 million credits, I have joined the Seti 7 year club. I would have made the 5.5 mil clean today, except the temps here jumped up over 95f, and the 14,700 btu a/c I have couldn't cope with the heat load of 8 crunchers, so I had to shut 4 of them down for the day and start them back up tonight.
Who would have thought back then, with a monster 233mmx, that it would come to this?
Upward and onward fellow crunchers, we'll find that signal yet!!
Glad to be a part of the group that has kept the faith for this long, and continues on with the quest.

Mark.

Yes!

Tomorrow I can join the 7-year club. It took more than a year to find a way around the "proxy" problem. First trials in 1999 ended in failure.

Otherwise I already joined the 8-year club. But no problem: i will crunch till I can join :-)

you've just joined the club by posting here. There's no actual "Club" per se that meets regularly or anything. Actually, you've been a member for just over a month now... Congrats.

Sure, my guess is 50000. I think many who joined Classic within its first two years are still contributing.

'Twould be an interesting thing if somebody with access to the database would do a search based on the sign-up date. Limit it to those with results returned within the last 30 days. And sort it month by month (or if that's too much, even year by year) since day 1. I'm sure it's possible, but will anybody bother to do it? I'm an over 7 year veteran myself.

Oh, surely not a priority, but an intersting datamining quest.
