Is Mr Bush counting his votes again? ;)

He thinks he is God and everybody should bow to him NOT!!!!

This man is disillusional

I don't think "disillusional" is a word. But of all people, our President does not think he is God. By all accounts he is a very religious man.

Let's see, "disillusional", that would translate to "without illusions". Yes, I can accept that statement.

From the rest of his post, I don't think Matthew was complementing the President. But I agree, the President does seem to know what is going on, he just doesn't communicate it very well.

Used the incorrect word which I agree what I meant to say is that he is not in touch with the American People. He is too wrapped up in himself.

I have more respect for his father than I do him.

San Diego School District Removes "God" from the Classroom: Thomas More Law Center Files Suit on Behalf of Teacher

ANN ARBOR, MI – The Thomas More Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, announced today that it has filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Poway Unified School District, located in San Diego, California. The lawsuit was brought on behalf of Brad Johnson, a respected teacher who has been teaching in the school district for 30 years. The lawsuit claims that school officials violated Johnson’s constitutional rights by ordering him to remove several educational banners from his classroom walls because, according to these officials, the banners promote a “Judeo-Christian” viewpoint.

The banners, which Johnson had displayed in his classroom without complaint for nearly 25 years, contained the following phrases: “In God We Trust,” the official motto of the United States; “One Nation Under God,” the 1954 amendment to the Pledge of Allegiance; “God Bless America,” a patriotic song considered to be the unofficial national anthem of the United States; “God Shed His Grace On Thee,” a line from “America the Beautiful,” a popular patriotic song; and “All Men Are Created Equal, They Are Endowed By Their Creator,” an excerpt from the preamble to the Declaration of Independence. School officials objected to the banners because they included the words “God” and “Creator.”

Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel for the Law Center, commented, “Cleansing our Nation’s classrooms of our religious heritage and history and imposing viewpoint restrictions on speech to silence such expressions advance no legitimate educational purpose. In fact, such actions undermine the primary purpose of public education: to prepare students for citizenship in our Republic.”

The lawsuit alleges that the school district violated Johnson’s constitutional rights by imposing a viewpoint-based restriction on his speech. It further alleges that this restriction “serves no valid educational purpose, is not reasonably related to any legitimate pedagogical concern, and conveys a government-sponsored message of disapproval of and hostility toward religion” in violation of the United States and California Constitutions.

Robert Muise, the Law Center attorney handling the case, commented, “It is without question that religious people founded this Nation. As a result, references to God are common in our songs, mottoes, and slogans. And it is the responsibility of our Nation’s public schools to educate students to be informed citizens. Consequently, it is the responsibility of all public school teachers, including Mr. Johnson, to educate students regarding our Nation’s history and its founding. Mr. Johnson’s educational banners serve that purpose.”

The lawsuit seeks to have the speech restriction overturned so that Johnson can continue to display his banners, as he had been for 25 years.

The Thomas More Law Center defends and promotes the religious freedom of Christians, time-honored family values, and the sanctity of human life through education, litigation, and related activities. It does not charge for its services. The Law Center is supported by contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations, and is recognized by the IRS as a section 501(c)(3) organization. Luke 23:33

And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."

;)

He said this, because He was an optimist.

I know several people, who do totally evil (from the view-point of the Scriptures), and do exactly know what they do. They just don't care what others may say about that.

"Let's eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die." is their slogan.

I know people who adore The Great Goddess, people who adore Satan, people who believe in other ideologies, people who believe in no-one else then themselves... But I also know people who are Christians (of a dozen confessions) and Muslims and Jews and Buddhists.
Their conviction alone doesn't make them being righteous persons. It's what they do and say, and if what they do differs from what they say.

Matthew 7:16

You will know them by their fruits.

Galatians 1:6-12

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and turning to a different gospel-- not that there is another gospel, but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, If any one is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed. Am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still pleasing men, I should not be a servant of Christ. For I would have you know, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not man's gospel. For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

Did Jesus love everybody?

Hate: Usage:

Our Savior is said to have hated the deeds of the Nicolaitanes; his language shows that he loathed the lukewarmness of the Laodiceans; he detested the hypocrisy of the scribes and Pharisees; he abhorred the suggestions of the tempter in the wilderness.

[1913 Webster]

But do you have to hate the entire person when you just hate what he/she does... ? I mean, a mother doesn't hate her child even when she just realized that he/she were committing a crime - he/she is still her beloved child. But she (the mother) hates what her child has done in this case.
I think, it's meant similar. You shall love the persons, not their deeds.

It is a fine thing to establish one's own religion in one's heart, not to be dependent on tradition and second-hand ideals. Life will seem to you, later, not a lesser, but a greater thing.

"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all..." ("Futurama" episode.)

When I worked as a housekeeper/janitor in a school, it never was apparent to anyone that I did anything at work, except when people actually saw me exchanging bulbs or repairing other things. But it became apparent when I was not there for more than three days, and things started to not work alright anymore.
Every one protested when my fixed-term contract finished, and the former house-keeper/janitor, whose replacement I was while he was sick for several months, came back.
Unfortunately for me it was not up to this school to decide whether or not they could keep me instead of the other man, but to the communal school administration.

But not during GDR times - it was in the 90's already. Since most schools belong to the towns, the communal school administration decides who does get a job there and who don't.

What E’er Thou Art, Act Well Thy Part
By: Lloyd D. Newell

We all have moments in life that can change us forever. Somehow we’re never quite the same after certain experiences. And more often than not, such pivotal moments can be relatively simple and small.

In the late 19th century, a young American of Scottish descent traveled to Scotland to live and work for a number of years. The work was difficult, the hours long, the discouragements frequent. During his time in Scotland, far away from his beloved home and family, he had occasion to spend a day touring the magnificent Stirling Castle in the countryside near Glasgow.

Later that evening, he happened to notice an inscription chiseled in the stone arch over the front door of a house: “What E’er Thou Art, Act Well Thy Part.” The message penetrated the young man’s heart. Invigorated and renewed, he determined to “act well his part.”

He later returned to America and went on to become a great leader, revered by all who knew him. His discovery of an old Scottish proverb was a turning point in his life. The simple message, “What E’er Thou Art, Act Well Thy Part,” became his personal motto. He never forgot its challenge to always do his best, whatever the task.

We all have such pivotal moments, if we just recognize them. They often come unexpectedly, when we’re struggling or discouraged, when we need them most. We suddenly notice something we haven’t seen before. It sparks a new insight that inspires us and motivates us. We discover a new resolve to do better and to be better. We change forever in that moment. And for the rest of our lives we look back to that moment for strength and inspiration.
