I think you're starting to see it. I've mentioned several times that credit is supposed to be identical (nearly) in both claimed and granted. just like this one:

335448811 2277799 2 Jun 2006 2:49:45 UTC 2 Jun 2006 11:01:44 UTC Over Success Done 17,473.47 62.40 62.40
335448812 2288631 2 Jun 2006 2:49:05 UTC 4 Jun 2006 16:20:54 UTC Over Success Done 62,850.08 62.40 62.40
335448813 2144265 2 Jun 2006 2:49:32 UTC 4 Jun 2006 20:24:30 UTC Over Success Done 21,291.61 62.40 62.40
335448814 2407666 2 Jun 2006 2:49:16 UTC 2 Jun 2006 16:01:16 UTC Over Success Done 23,280.51 62.40 62.40

Anything which makes it different by however much is WRONG. As I've stated a few times in "the other thread". This is known by berkeley. Eric has stated that it will be looked at when Matt L returns. So this IS being addressed. If we could now only get the other sources of disparity to stop, then the ground would be level.

Hello!

I know this since a few days! :-)

I started a thread:
"Please update to minimum Boinc V5.2.13!"

Have a look:

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=31312#319371

...S@H Classic was easy...
Counting only the WUs...! :-)

And how will Berkeley it do that everyone do/ become the correct/ same Credits?

Greetings!

It is very sadly that Crunch3r and you had/ have controversy...
I hope that you are (Crunch3r & you) will find together!
(I hope it´s correct english! :-)

There is a data table entry in which a project can set "min value" so that a boinc daemon can retrieve work for the project. A year of so ago they set it to 4.19. This meant that any CC with a version earlier than 4.19 would not be able to download new work. I don't know all the intricacies of this, but from what Eric said it Beta, it appears to take a bit of work, and he's waiting for Matt Lebofsky to get back. I don't know what min version they may pick. The choice of which version has it's own pluses and minuses. For example, if they pick 5.4.9 the following would happen.

1) All optimized BOINC CC's would not work with seti anymore, forcing users to either stick with other project and keep their claims, or upgrade and stay with seti.

2) NTML proxie connections still has issues and some users would have to stop using boinc in it's entirety(this applies to all V5 boinc CC's).

3) there are more problems with picking this version, but I don't remember them all.

If they pick 5.2.6, then all versions of the (reasonably recent)optimized jBoinc CC's would still work.

Either way this would remove the errant claims you've pointed out. But picking any version of V5 as min would mean some handful of HTML people would be stopped from using boinc, until Rom can fix this. It's a decision Berkeley will have to make.

does this help?

Hello!

Thank you!

I hope that... minimum Boinc V5.2.6...! :-)

Because... I had update Boinc V5.3.12.tx36 to Boinc V5.5.0...
After this, my PC was "damaged"!
(I had removed Boinc V5.3.12.tx36 and installed the new Boinc V5.4.9 and then Boinc V 5.5.0 ! It wasn´t an install problem :-)

Because I think... I had read about this... something about, what I don´t have on my PCs:
Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1
and/ or:
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0: x86 (KB829019)

Is this correct, this must be on the PC for minimum Boinc V5.4.9?

...I gone back to Boinc V5.3.12.tx36...

Greetings!

No, BOINC doesn't need .NET software. It doesn't use it. Maybe that your videocard drivers need it (Ati's Catalyst Control Center needs .NET 1.1 .. No clue why) and BoincSpy (a 3rd party BOINC add-on) needs .NET 2.0

But BOINC by itself doesn't.

Hello!

It was like this...

Everytime I restarted my PC (after update to Boinc V5.4.9/ V5.5.0):
The PC "drove down",
but he didn´t started Windows...
I must "reset" with the PC- Button!
And then started Windows...

I don´t know what happened!

Greetings!

Hello, Hallo!

O.K. in german... :-)

Greetings!

Ok, I asked for it in German as I can read that and you can explain it better in your own language, I figured. :)

It sounds more like you have a problem with either your motherboard, or your power supply. If a computer on bootup won't show anything on the monitor, but it doesn't beep audily either, it's not a videocard problem, but more like something wrong with your motherboard, or that the PSU (power supply) can't give enough power to start up.

I'd check it there first.

Hey Nick!

:-)
You had hijacked my post!
:-)

You "must" do it like this:

This is a contribution to support Crunch3r !!!!!

Hello!

All talk about cheating when you use (Crunch3rs optimized) S@H V5.11 !!!!!

But nobody talk about cheating when you do not use Boinc V5.2.6 and later !!!!!

Have a look:

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=80344941

The same WU!!!!!
"Original" S@H!!!!!
Different Boinc!!!!!

32K seconds and 119 credit claimed, Hmm. I do not get those numbers, lol.

This is O.K.?

Ok, I asked for it in German as I can read that and you can explain it better in your own language, I figured. :)

It sounds more like you have a problem with either your motherboard, or your power supply. If a computer on bootup won't show anything on the monitor, but it doesn't beep audily either, it's not a videocard problem, but more like something wrong with your motherboard, or that the PSU (power supply) can't give enough power to start up.

I'd check it there first.

Hello!

Before I installed Boinc V5.4.9 my PC was O.K. ...

And now after I deleted Boinc V5.4.9 and installed Boinc V5.2.13 and V5.3.12.tx36 again, everything is O.K. again...

I don´t think that it´s a PC problem... or?

What can it be?

I don´t know... :-(

Greetings!

It is over

Are there any site providing optimized clients?
in a message from Crunch3r he has deleted the source code and asked that everyone remove it from their computers.

There is no need for a Strike, there were no winners. There is a need to get the credit system fixed...

So it time to go back to Work, Crunch Or Stop it is Your Choice please just do it quietly...

My nephew once had really odd stuff like this. Turned out the system would not power up with the external USB connected hard disk in certain ports on the USB hub, but it would boot every time with the disk not connected. Then once booted he could just connect it again.

Took a lot of software analysis and head scratching to stumble on the actual problem. ;)

And how will Berkeley it do that everyone do/ become the correct/ same Credits?

Greetings!

It's a decision Berkeley will have to make.

does this help?

tony

Hello!

I would like to remind all of it...
...so that nobody forgets... :-)

I hope it will be Boinc V5.2.6 and later...!
