The records for my computer listed on the web site shows that I get a lot more work units than I actually receive. I don't get any computation errors. For instance the record for 7-13-06 shows I downloaded 31 new work units - on the same day I only returned 8 and am currently working on 6. Where did they go? This only happens to my laptop. Most will eventually time out and be recorded as no reply. Anybody else have the same problem? |

Most will eventually time out and be recorded as no reply. Anybody else have the same problem? I usually keep the cache set at two days - since I am on the road a lot and loose my connection frequently, this helps to keep me crunching numbers. As you can maybe see from the numbers below my computer named chuck has 6 times as many results listed as the other 5 compuers. Most of the results listed never even show up on the computer - they never even get started. 2477562 chuck 156.77 46,079.73 AuthenticAMD Mobile AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 2800+ Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2, (05.01.2600.00) 90 15 Jul 2006 3:23:22 UTC 2451814 EXTRA 69.09 2,721.44 GenuineIntel x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 3 646MHz Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition, Service Pack 4, (05.00.2195.00) 11 14 Jul 2006 21:50:49 UTC 356351 CRC2 130.53 89,182.57 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2, (05.01.2600.00) 15 14 Jul 2006 20:56:12 UTC 2250929 home 71.12 85,512.69 AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) Processor Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition, Service Pack 4, (05.00.2195.00) 12 14 Jul 2006 20:22:54 UTC 312524 Darcy 118.15 102,037.04 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition, Service Pack 4, (05.00.2195.00) 22 14 Jul 2006 20:09:19 UTC |

In the Windows Q&A forum i'm noticing quite a few machines returning invalid results generally with exit code -1 (0xffffffff) What does exit code -1 (0xffffffff) mean? Anyone got a cause/cure for it? Grant Darwin NT |

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=357216760 Indeed, and thank you for not posting the full dump here. Rom Walton apparently thinks those huge dumps are needed, he's worked hard to make them appear. But the error cause is very likely already diagnosed and the known fix will be in the next version of the stock application. See this post by Eric Korpela. That fix is already in the optimized versions by Chicken of Angnor (Simon Zadra), see his site for information and downloads. Joe |

Please see the post I made under 5.5.6. BUG!! for a recurring constant error which makes Boinc dump all waiting WUs. |

I have had around 80 (THAT'S EIGHTY) error results! See link: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=212011 Only you can use the link to your combined userid results, but results on your host 2173204 certainly include many download errors. That's a bit off-topic for this thread since it's not a computation error, but that doesn't make them less painful. Joe |

Before that, no errors, nothing changed on my client side since 13th of July. Probably a glitch on Seti's end? |

I now have four units which will not upload after yesterdays 'shutdown'. Are these now lost forever? I've got a good 15 that won't upload. ANY idea why (or how to fix it) would be appreciated. |
