I've recently updated my Winamp to version 5.13 (available for free from http://www.winamp.com/). And have discovered the joy of podcasts (though I have listened to a lot of Internet Radio for a while now). I was pleased to discover that I can listen to (and download) Are We Alone? The SETI Institute's Weekly Science Program. Older shows can be found at SETI Institute Show Archives The show in it's podcast format is called SETI:Science & Skepticism I provide this info for anybody who might be interested - enjoy. My pleasure Tiare, and thanks Sir Ulli and Byron. There are a lot of people who already knew about this, but I thought that there might also be a lot of people who didn't. There are a few other SETI, Astronomy and Science related podcasts that are available via Winamp also. Within Winamp click on ML (Media Library) and then click on discover in the left hand menu pane just below SHOUT Cast wire, click on the various links or type in a keyword to search for, then click on subscribe to to add it to your 'list' of channels, then if you click on 'subscriptions' in the menu below SHOUT Cast wire and then go to the 'channels' window just click on the particular program you want to listen to, you should then see a list of 'episodes' appear in the 'item' window and a brief description appear in the window below that, finally double click on the particular 'episode' you want to listen to in the 'item' window and hey presto you should now be listening to the radio broadcast of your choice. hi Kinhull , Thanks Byron, If that quote doesn't get people interested in SETI then I don't know what will. "Sometimes I think we're alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we're not. An interesting set of videos/pictures. One note: I have a feeling that a flash on the Moon like that occurs oftener than once in 100,000 years. Late 1953 was only 53-1/2 years ago so I have about a 99.95 percent chance of being right. |
