I and others have noticed a strange phenomenon with random posts on these boards. What happens is that at the bottom of the post, the message ID, rating count, the rating buttons and the report offensive posts link do not display. All that displays at the bottom is the "Reply to this post" link. There's also a large space between the message and the "Reply...." link. I have also been noticing thin white lines through some posts. Doing a reload of the page will bring them back, but other posts may have the same problem afterwords. I have seen this in both Mozilla and Firefox. Here's a screen shot to help with the explanation. Anyone else see this problem? I'm posting this here so the devs can see it. >:-) (-:< CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. I haven't spotted the white lines, but the rest I've seen sporadically. Haven't tried refreshing to see what happens. I'm using Firefox 1.0.7 I just compiled and installed v1.0.3 Firefox last night. Before that I was using Mozilla. This is on FreeBSD v5.4release and KDE v3.4. CPU P4 1.6Ghz 256mem.... You can see the white line in my screen shot.... This is weird, started when they added that link for reporting offensive posts. >:-| |-:< CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. I have seen this on an older Mozilla in linux as well. When I looked at the code it didn't seem wrong. And the fact that it happens more or less randomly is pretty strange... This occured way before the "report offensive post"-feature was added. I've updated to Mozilla 1.7.8 and now that I think about it it has been a while since I saw it last time. |

Hi Janus, I only started noticing this after the report link was added. The only other phenomenon I saw before that was where the "disapearing" items would be displayed vertically vs. horizontally. Now that, I don't remember seeing for quite some time. Maybe a clue there.... >:-) (-:< CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. This has been around since Rob's first breakmyforum days. And I don't and have never seen the "Report this post as offensive" thingy ever. When it was first mentioned I was wondering what people were talking about. Now I know. |

This has been around since Rob's first breakmyforum days. I've never seen that link either, but I have figured out why. Here is a snippet of the HTML source: <td style="border:0px;"><font size=-2><i>ID: 180010 | Rating: 0</i> | rate: <a href="forum_rate.php?post=180010&choice=p"><img src="img/rate_positive.png" alt="+" height="9" border=0></a> / <a href="forum_rate.php?post=180010&choice=n"><img src="img/rate_negative.png" alt="-" height="9" border=0></a> - <a href="forum_report_post.php?post=180010"><img src="img/report_post.png" alt="Report this post as offensive" height="img/report_post.png" border=0></a></font></td><td align=right style="border:0px">[<a href="forum_reply.php?thread=21297&post=180010#input">Reply to this post</a>]</td></tr></table></td></tr><script>function jumpToUnread(){};</script></table> Note the height parameter. It's a scripting error. No animals were harmed in the making of the above post... much. |
