What happened? From what has made it onto the national news here in the UK, it appears that six underground train stations, and a double decker passenger bus, all in London, have been involved in co-ordinated bomb blasts, sadly, people have died. I can't seem to find out anything else out at the moment as the communication networks over here are overloaded. edit UK ITV report /edit Ken Phillips Ken Phillips BOINC question? What happened? Thanks for the information Ken. I just caught it on the CNN radio webcast but missed the details. This is very bad news. |

What happened? From CCN.com London rocked by explosions LONDON, England (CNN) -- Four explosions in London's transport system have killed at least two people and wounded dozens more in what UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said was an apparent terrorist attack. A previously unknown group, calling itself the Group of al-Qaeda of Jihad Organization in Europe laid claim to the blasts, posting a statement on an Islamist web site a few hours after the explosions. The claim could not be independently verified. They are speaking about 20 deads for the moment. Really sad news. Having been several times to London at King's Cross, I can't believe something like that can happen there. I have been also several times to the Middle East for my work, have really friends there and made friends there also. But this kind of extremism is really not acceptable, it is against humanity and any kind of human respect. |

Again a barbarian attack against innocent civilian victims. :-( My thoughts are with our neighbours in Britain and I hope the best for the many injured persons. And I still hope that we work for peace and friendship with participating in this project and that we will overcome this sad spirit in the future. It is a barbarian act against mankind. They believe right now that there were 7 explosions...6 at tube stations and one on a bus. For AQ to have mustered that many resources to plan and bring this about is most worrying. It was highly coordinated. For it to happen in London which has, we are told, many protections against this very thing is even more worrying. |

I’ve been following the BBC News here in Malaysia and my thoughts and sympathies to all in UK today! This is indeed a terrifying act, that once again strikes the world – and for what reason? Happy crunching |

33 confirmed dead so far excluding any count of people on a bus that was bombed. Over 1000 injured so far with some 100 serious and life threatened. So sad and so unnecessary. 750K people were taken off tube trains after the explosions as the tube network was closed down. No tube services are running atill ...no public transport in central London at all. Many arterial routes have been closed to traffic causing huge travel delays. Some folk may not get home tonight. Some will never go home............ |

What happened? Yes, it's all over the news now Thierry. I didn't turn on my TV this morning because I was working on my computer. It is very sad indeed, and more so as the casualties keep growing as well. |

I don't quite know how to say this so it does not sound,um, stupid or mean... But, the current terror movement seems to be ahead of us at the moment. But like the hijaaking "storm" we had through the 70's and 80's developed along the same lines. One here, one there, ... But after awhile, it was one a week ... In a nutshell, it got to be to the point where every govenment was affected. The last thing in the world you want to do is to come up with a strategy that threatens ALL govenments. It won't happen overnight... but ... don't make all govenments feel unsafe ... {p.s.} I don't need a downer today ... but I feel for those affected too ... |

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. I had a couple of distressed phone calls from UK co-workers, but thankfully everyone has been accounted for. Another sad day for the civilized world. |
