Any one else getting this? I know they had issues yesterday, maybe it is still trying to catch up... Guess Berkeleys file server hangs again. There must be something wrong there... 3th hanging in 5 days? Luckely, I got 1 day of wu's left to crunch. I just hate it when the thing goes offline when I'm due for a download ;-) Just wait & see what happens. |

Hi ! Looks like the scheduler is having problems today. The whole day I was having difficulties accessing the scheduler. In the past hour no attempt toconnect is successfull at all. Anyone else noticed problems ? Regards Rayburner |

Yep, this morning I had almost 100 WU's waiting to upload. I notice that they have taken down 2 of the 4 transitioners. My uploads have mostly caught up, but the validators are way behind. I notice that I am finially received way overdue credits for pending jobs. I am starting to run dry of WU's on my computers with only 2 days of cache. 2 of the 3 splitters are currently offline. This is begining to look like they are explicitly slowing things down to catch up. I wonder if everything can really run at full load with the optimized clients and all of the new seti@home users. |

Same here. Message - No schedulers responded - all day. But could upload work. From the Home Page: June 8, 2005 Update: data service is back online as of 04:15 UTC. I would bet all us crunchers are once again making it back-up :) I'd rather speak my mind because it hurts too much to bite my tongue. Same here. Message - No schedulers responded - all day. But could upload work. As Classic ramps down, more resources will be made available for Seti Boinc I would have thought. Which should help to ease the transition (at least a little bit). Join TeamACC Sometimes I think we are alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we are not. Same here. Message - No schedulers responded - all day. But could upload work. Well lets hope so....cos they will need it. As for the 04:15 UTC on the 8th....its 20:17 UTC on the 8th right now. So I guess there are yet more issues over and above those in the news page. |

Nope every time the servers fail for any reason it takes quite a bit of time for them to catch up. They only allow n# connections to occur at the same time. If you have a million instances trying to hit 10000 connections it will back up for several hours. PS my numbers are for example only... well this is why they wanted everyone to use a caching program on Setiathome classic. With the cache the clients didn't try to contact the main servers every .25 days and overload them. Setiqueue servers made things easier for main servers. |

well this is why they wanted everyone to use a caching program on Setiathome classic. Excuse me, but the cache programs of Classic were made by 3rd party programmers. The programmers at Berkeley never said in so many words that they wanted you to use them, they only (eventually) gave links to them. My Boinc caches perfectly, just as I want it to, 2 units per my 0.5 days. Then again, I am running more than one project as that's what Boinc is made for, so I will never be out of work. |
