Revisiting a quote from another thread, here's a medley, or a big heaping of Meatloaf...

...I was a varsity tackle and a helluva block,
And when I played my guitar I made the canyons rock, but...

Every Saturday night, I felt the fever grow.
You know what it's like.
All revved up with no place to go.
You know what it's like.
All revved up with no place to go...
----------------
...And all I can do is keep on telling you,
I want you, I need you,
But there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you,
Now don't be sad, because two out of three ain't bad.
Now don't be sad, because two out of three ain't bad.

You'll never find-a gold on a sandy beach.
You'll never drill for oil on a city street.
I know you're looking for a ruby in a pile of rocks,
But there ain't no Coupe-de-Ville,
Hiding at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box.

I can't lie,
I can't tell you that I'm something I'm not.
No matter how I try,
I'll never be able,
To give you something,
Something that I just haven't got...
----------------
...I couldn't take it anymore,
My God, I was crazy,
When the feeling came upon me like a tidal wave,
I started swearing to my God and on my mother's grave,
That I would love you 'til the end of time.
I swore I'd love you 'til the end of time.

So now I'm praying for the end of time,
To hurry up and arrive.
'Cause if I have to spend another minute with you,
I don't think that I can really survive.
I never break my promise or forget my vow,
But God only knows what I could do right now.
I'm praying for the end of time,
It's all that I can do.
Praying for the end of time,
So I can end my time with you...

when i was much younger i worked at a carwash on the side while i was making too little to live on as a radio announcer...this song rained down in my mind over and over...now i'm gonna rain it down on you.

JIM CROCE

"WORKIN' AT THE CARWASH BLUES"

Well I had just got out from the county prison
Doin' 90 days for non-support
Tried to find me an executive position
But no matter how smooth I talked
They wouldn't listen to the fact that I was genius
The man said, We got all that we can use.
Now I got them
Steadily depressin', low down mind-messin'
Workin' at the carwash blues.

Well I should be sittin' in an air conditioned
office with a swivel chair
Talkin' some trash to the secretary, sayin',
Hey now mama, come on over here.
Instead I'm stuck here rubbin' these fenders with a rag
And walkin' on these soggy old shoes
With them steadily depressin', low down mind-messin'
Workin' at the carwash blues

You know a man of my ability
He should be smokin' on a big cigar
But till I get myself straight,
I guess I'll just have to wait
In my rubber suit rubbin' these cars.

Well, all I can do is just shake my head
You might not believe that it's true
For working at this end of Niagara Falls
Is an undiscovered Howard Hughes

So baby, don't 'spect to see me
With no double martini
In any high-brow society news
Cause I got them
Steadily depressin', low down mind-messin'
Workin' at the carwash blues.

So baby, don't 'spect to see me

Cause I got them

Why Don't We Get Drunk
I really do, appreciate, the fact you're sittin' here
Your voice sounds so wonderful, but your face don't look too clear
So barmaid, bring a pitcher, another round of brew,
Honey why don't we get drunk, and screw?

Why don't we get drunk, and screw?
I just bought a waterbed, it's filled up for me and you
They say you are a snuff queen,
Honey I don't think that's true,

How can I tell you that I love you when your sittin on my face....

Sit on my face and tell me that you love me
I'll sit on your face and tell you I love you too
I love to hear you o-ra-lise
When I'm between your thighs
You blow me away.

Sit on my face and let my lips embrace you
I'll sit on your face and then I'll love you truly
Life can be fine if we both sixty nine
If we sit on our faces
In all sorts of places
And play till we're blown away.

When she walked on down the street
She was like a child staring at her feet
But when she passed the bar
And she heard the music play
She had to go in and sing
It had to be that way
She had to go in and sing
It had to be that way

And I said no, no, no
Oh, Lady Day
And I said no, no, no
Oh, Lady Day

After the applause had died down
And the people drifted away
She climbed down the bar
And went out the door
To the hotel
That she called home
It had greenish walls
A bathroom in the hall

And I said no, no, no
Oh, Lady Day
And I said no, no, no
Oh, Lady Day

Sometimes in my bed at night,
I curse the dark and I pray for light,
And sometimes, the light's no consolation.
Blinded by a memory,
Afraid of what it might do to me,
And the tears and the sweat only mock my desperation.

Don't you know me I'm the boy next door,
The one you find so easy to ignore,
Is that what I was fighting for?

Walking on a thin line,
Straight off the front line,
Labeled as freaks loose on the streets of the city.
Walking on a thin line,
Angry all the time.
Take a look at my face, see what it's doing to me.

Taught me how to shoot to kill.
A specialist with a deadly skill.
A skill I needed to have to be a survivor.
It's over now, or so they say.
Well sometimes it don't turn out that way,
'Cause your never the same when you've been under fire.

Don't you know me I'm the boy next door,
The one you find so easy to ignore,
Is that what I was fighting for?

Walking on a thin line,

************************** ..........I agree....... ***************************

The sunday mornin' gospel goes good with the soul
There's blues, folk, and country, and rock like a rollin' stone
The world could come together as one
If everybody under the sun
Add some music to your day

A bob didit a bop didit

You'll hear it while you're walkin' by a neighbor's home
You'll hear it faintly in the distance when you're on the phone
You're sittin' in a dentist's chair
And they've got music for you there
To add some music
To your day

A bob didit a bop didit

Add some music music everywhere (add some music)
Add some add some add some add some music (add some music)
Your doctor knows it keeps you calm
Your preacher adds it to his psalms
So add some music
To your day

Music
(Add some music add some music)
When you're alone
(Add some music add some music)
Is like a companion
(Add some music add some music)
For your lonely soul

Oo oo oo woo oo woo oo oo oo oooo

When day is over (when day is over)
I close my tired eyes (I close my tired)
Music is in my soul

At a movie you can feel it touching your heart
And on every day of the summertime
You'll hear children chasing ice cream carts
They'll play it on your wedding day
There must be 'bout a million ways
To add some music
(Add some music add some add some music to your)
To your day

Add some music to your day
Add some music to your day
Add some music to your day
Add some music to your day

i'm gonna go back a few years for one of BRIAN WILSON'S songs from early BEACH BOYS days...this one is so sad and mournful...it always gets to me.

What good is the dawn
That grows into day
The sunset at night
Or living this way

For I have the warmth of the sun
(Warmth of the sun)
Within me at night
(Within me at night)

The love of my life
She left me one day
I cried when she said
"I don't feel the same way"

Still I have the warmth of the sun
(Warmth of the sun)
Within me tonight
(Within me tonight)

I'll dreams of her arms
And though they're not real
Just like she's still there
The way that I feel

My love's like the warmth of the sun
(Warmth of the sun)
It won't ever die
(It won't ever die)
