> COOL DOWN > The HOT HEAD Dear Guido, By this I ask you to stop your silly posts. If not, you will have to experience the consequences for it. You understand perfectly English, so calm down and behave yourself. You can participate in these message boards but in another way !! Greetings from Belgium. |

I think it's over for now. I suggess that next time he starts posting craps we all just hit the "vote to reject" buttons a couple of times for it will ring a few bells somewhere. Best regards to all Marc |

What's even worse: This guy has his own company!! Something like packaging techniques and consulting. Didn't have a closer look at his homepage because of high risk of eye cancer. (Never seen a worse company homepage, I wonder if this is the way to attract customers) Maybe he treats his customers in a similar childish way. Well, then I predict a not so bright future for him. The best is to ingnore this braindead ***** until BOINC admins kick him out scsimodo |

> Its in the profile view of the user Hmm, this only affects his profile, right? Is there a way to get his posts modded down? Or even better: to lock him out of the board, disallowing any post from him? scsimodo |

You are both correct but that's the only way I know to do something. I guess that they would investigate the user if they receive a few hundreds of vote to reject at the same time. |

It is sending an e-mail to one of the following people: David Anderson, Noaa Avital, Brian Boshes, Karl Chen, Pietro Cicotti, Seth Cooper, James Drews, Michael Gary, Gary Gibson, Eric Heien, Thomas Horsten, Daniel Hsu, John Keck, John Kirby, Eric Korpela, Janus Kristensen, Tim Lan, Sebastian Masch, Kenichi Miyoshi, Stephen Pellicer, Jens Seidler, Christian Soettrup, Michela Taufer, Mathias Walter, Rom Walton and Oliver Wang. All of them are part of the DEV team of Boinc. |

The best example of that > is I fully understood your last post. In french it's "Une image vaut mille Marc, very well put. There are lots of people on these boards for whom English is not their native language. And no matter how poor their English may be I still admire them for trying, and I can always understand it well enough to know what they are trying to say. And Guido is just pulling our string, trying to get some attention. His English is much better than he has been trying to make us beleive lately. Hey PoorBoy - it seems almost like J.Q. has moved to Germany doesn't it? |

Guido, I don't think anyone here is objecting to you personally. Also, I don't think that anyone here is objecting to the occasional posting of a relavent picture. However, I *do* think that they are objecting to you posting picture after unrelated picture in threads, seemingly for no other purpose than to post a picture in the thread(s). Too much of a good thing is bad. You are annoying people by doing so. It wastes some people's bandwidth (NOT the bandwidth of this forum's server, and not really the bandwidth of the server the pictures are on... but the bandwidth of the individual user). Remember, some people are on dialup. Tons of images in threads GREATLY extends their page-loading time. Please, Guido, have a little mercy on people and reduce your image-posting. Thank you. ------------ KWSN-MajorKong KWSN Forum Admin (retired) http://www.kwsnforum.com |

Forums should ban ALL pics until there's enough processor time on the servers to display a user's result and pending credit! Granted, the sig pic and others come off other servers, but hey folks, the text on the forums is still slow (just the text and not resolving the remote HTML) and the "waiting to paint" for pics make this whole thing look VERY slow! It's a matter of "impression" an the "impression" of someone visiting here is that stuff on boinc/seti is slow, even if for a given thread it's hitting 30 other servers! The most vocal here to keep pics seem to be those with "badges" from a sig site, but that's not a reason - it's a cause! TURN OFF ALL GRAPHICS (sigs) until the servers can support their basic functionality! |
