This is supposed to be the same on differant projects if you use the same email address ?

I have just registered with Einstein using the same email address as with Seti, yet I have differant Cross Platform IDs.

Does this get corrected during some consolidation process or has it failed ?

I don't think that thread gives the answer. :-)

Yes, they should be the same. But for it to get the same you need at least one PC running both Seti and Einstein. Is that the case for you?

I had looked at that thread. While it is the same subject, it is a differant issue.

Yes I do have one PC running the 2 projects, but I have yet to return an Einstein result. Yours and Richards comments suggests that once I have returned a result, the 2 systems will notice that fact and update one or both. Can anyone confirm this ?

Running S@H for a while now.

I joined E@H some 10 days ago. Indeed, the CPID is the same at E@H as the one at S@H.

I run Seti and Einstein. I can confirm that after x amount of time, my cross-project IDs were sync'd. Since I wasn't monitoring it, I can't say when or what the circumstances were, but it did happen eventually.

There are several things that have to happen before the CPIDs for different projects line up after a new project is joined. In 4.19 and earlier, either could be used (the largest value is chosen). In 4.20 and later, the old one will be kept.

1) The email addresses must be the same and case counts. foo@bar.com is not the same as Foo@bar.com.

2) There must be a path from server to client to server that covers all project servers. Isolated projects that run on a pool of dedicated machines will not have their CPIDs updated.

3) There must be a connection to the new project that retrieves the prospective CPID. There must then be a connection to each and every project server that needs to be updated (note that with 4.2x, this is only the new one, and with 4.19 and earlier, it could be every project).

4) The XML files must be published in order for the third party stats sites to pick up the change.
