The following hosts are looking very suspicious: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=457299 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=457461 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=457462 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=457464 They all are Durons, have 0.00 credit, with 12 downladed WUs, and Anonimous. If you find similar hosts sharing any of your WUs, post them here. The hosts must meet the following criteria: - the host must be recent (in the last few days) created - the host must have 0.00 credit - the host most probably belongs to an anonimous owner - the number of downloaded by this host WUs is about 11-12 or more Of course, there are hosts that meet those criterias but are pretty normal and in few days they will return results. If so, I'll remove them from the list. Probably Rom will take a look at it in the database when he has time whether it is a misconfigured machine. |

http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=6954#49850 If your computers are hidden than all who see results of that host will be Anonymous. |

Here's another two you can add to the list: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=453103 http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=453154 This one shares 4 of my WU. C Join Team MacNN |

I use to wonder about this and asked all the questions Again If you hide your puters than you look at the host it shows as Anonymous. Now you can see your own puters and users who have not hidden thier computers. Read up this is a lost cause. Timmy |

I have to agree with Quantum, though, as the user seems suspicious. In addition to the ones Quantum listed, I looked at 457463, 457466, 457468, 457469, 457470...I quit looking after that one. All of these have the same exact Measured floating point speed and Measured integer speed. The second one I listed above, 453154, is a different computer than the ones Quantum found; but, it's the same as 453155, 453157, 453158, 453159, 453160... All of these have the same exact Measured floating point speed and Measured integer speed also. It appears that someone (or two people) is creating new IDs and tieing up WU - perhaps on purpose, or perhaps a defective computer. I would sure like to be proven wrong on this, however. If somebodyelse find such hosts, please, put them here. Captain Avatar, you're right, of course. The problem is not with our computers but with a misterious ones that are registering "empty" hosts and wasting WUs. You should check your WU list for such ghosts also. Quantum These are not "empty" host computers they are hidden by the user, I checked your first example 457299 and it is a newly added computer and the units were downloaded yesterday,, They arent due until the 30th... You can keep posting them but you are wasting your time. I tried to share with you about this and you can waste your time with them. Timmy |

I just checked all that you have listed They are recently Added computers The units arent due for days. The Cruncher has chosen to hide their computers thus you see them as Anonymous...... EDIT If you really want to find problems look at this host! http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/show_host_detail.php?hostid=112615 |

> > List of ghosts: > http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/show_host_detail.php?hostid=457461 This host doesn't have anything in common with the others, and since it's already got "pending" results it doesn't look there's any problem here... For the rest, it's maybe the same bug with access-rights on the BOINC-files already fixed in the source, but will not be released before v4.6x is stable enough. As for 112615, it has an ocassionally normally crunched wu, the rest is download-problems hopefully v4.14 will fix... |
