The reason that I run SETI@home is to contribute to the search for what could and should be out there in the vast expanse of space.
This project allows for the common person to give some of their unused computing power to an interesting cause. With the format of using distributing computer a large amount of data can be crunched for a smaller cost than what would be incurred if super computer time was purchased.
This project is definitely an interesting subject as there has always been human kinds need to know what is out there beyond our own existence even if so many light years away. As the saying goes the odds of there not being any other life out there is in the vastness of space is very small.
