Personal background
Hello,
My name is Holly, I'm 32 years old and from NJ.
I'm a NASA freak and am very into space exploration.
I find it interesting and exciting.

Their are to many planets out their to think ours is the only one that has sprung life.
As humans we our curious creatures and strive to find meaning, in what we don't understand. This is our greatest challenge and I'm glad to be a part of it.
Life will find a way, and we will find life someday.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

I believe extraterrestrial life does exists, it may not be little green men but life nonetheless. I think it will first be discovered as micro life then as we get are able to probe further into the unknown it will become more complex.
Their are prose and cons to every discovery, would finding life make us look harder at our selves, is their a God? Danger maybe, in finding a race that is more advanced opening our selves up to new diseases or domination. Maybe we will be the bringers of that danger to another world and be their doomsday. But what if we are all children of the stars and somewhere out their are our brothers and sisters the answers to all the questions we have been asking since the dawn of time, wouldn't the thought of that make it worth the risk.

2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

We should do all we can in order to search or life. What I believe our message should be is one of peace. We are explorers and are searching for knowledge asking for something to pick up that cosmic phone and let us know we are not alone.

3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions? I run SETI for all the above reasons, because I believe in order for us to grow as a race we must extend our hand and more forward. I know we are not alone and someday I hope the world will know to.
