Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I ran SETI@Home years ago and somewhere in their system there is a "hit" by me.
I participate in SETI@Home not to help prove that there is intelligent life out in space, but to help prove there isn't -- at least, none advanced enough in our current space/time continuum to be able to communicate with us. The failure of the SETI searchers to find a definitive signal does that.
Why do the "CAPTCHA" images have to be so unreadable? MP3Raid.com uses letters that you can read and they don't seem to have any problems.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
