Also have an interest in chemistry. Currently chasing up a career in computers science and chemistry. Possible BOINC project of my own in the future??....

All my seti@home computers run optimized applications provided by: Lunatics
Fan of:
AMD/intel, nVidia, HP, all computer volunteers around the world.[/b]

Current rants about computers:
1. Intel processors (i7 especially) way overpriced. - May buy an AMD Phenom II X6 =)
2. Manufacturers, dell and HP especially, selling PCs with crap PSUs.
3. Windows Vista....need I explain. Now running Windows 7, its an improvement but still nothing compared to linux =)
4. Under development of linux based operating systems for gaming and general home use.

BOINC Projects I have participated in:
1. Seti@home Enhanced + Astropulse (and Seti@home classic - preBOINC) - Running
2. Primegrid - Suspended
3. Rosetta@home - Suspended
4. GPU Grid - Retired

Currently up to:
~Learning the general basics of Ubuntu OS and unix.
~Working on CUDA applications.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been running BOINC based projects for many years. It started off with my dad running Seti@home classic (pre-BOINC) on his work computers. After BOINC was released, I installed it on all the computers I had available to me to advance science. I have been running Seti@home for many many years and have only attached myself to other projects when Seti@home is either out of work or suffering from large scale project failure.

It is a great project which I enjoy running and viewing the results. I think that the stock applications should be improved so that there are offical Seti@home optimized applications for each platform as it is a pain having to update the optimized applications manually.

A few things that I think could be improved:
1. Stock applications optimized as above.
2. Improvements to the current GPU system and support for ATI cards.
3. Less project down time!!
