Hello. I'm enlisted in the US Navy. I am an ex-Electrician's Mate, ex-Missile Technician (go Boomers!) working now as an Information System Technician stationed in South Korea. I'm due to retire by early '19, by which point I'll have been contributing to SETI@HOME for 19 years!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@Home because the concept of a worldwide, home-based computer network used to analyze the dish's data is an awesome use of unused computer power. I run the program as often as possible, which is all the time. In fact, I built a server just for running Seti@Home (and file storage)!
