Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think extraterrestrial life exists?
Yes, I do.
When & how we will discover it?
I do not know, but I hope SETI will help somehow.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
If they are friendly, we can share knowledge of just about any subject.

If unfriendly, then the dangers would be: diplomatic and/or military
conflicts between us & the extraterrestrial's.

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
Yes, I do.
If so, what information should we send?
A message stating we are seeking peaceful contact for the purpose of exchanging knowledge.
A biography about people and our planet, so they will know a little about us.
Not to mention an audio recording so they can learn a little of our spoken language.
As well as coordinates/charts,maps for them to find us.

Why do you run SETI@home?
I simply believe we are not alone in the universe. And I am willing and happy to do whatever I can, to help find
other life out there.

What are your views about the project?
I think this is a wonderful project, that should continue indefinately, or at least until we make positive real life "in person" first contact with the
extraterrestrial's.
I am talking about a sit down conference with them, like what heads of state do, such as during "peace talks".

Any suggestions?
Yes, one. Keep SETI going indefinately, while upgrading and expanding the infrastructure of it as the need arises.

As far as the SETI project goes, I think it is very well thought out, structured, applied, and maintained.
I am also pleased that everyday people, groups and corporations can participate and not be left out.

Enough said for now. Have a good day..

Jay
