Profile: ANNIECE

Personal background
My name is Anniece Isler. I am from Newburgh, NY which I call Pollyannaville. I began to believe in extraterrestrial life when I was a child playing with my brother under the stars, while my mom sat on the porch rolling up her hair. (See I said Pollyannaville.) During my journey through life I began to love Sir Arthur Clarke, Carl Sagan, Asimov, Stan Lee and other Sci Fi writers. I have a degree in Elementary Education with minors in Math and Science. My experience in Elementary Education was brief because it did not pay enough to let me live in other Pollyannavilles. So, I got a certificate in computer science from IBM and taught COBOL and Fortran at Howard University ( now you are starting to compute my age). My career started with QA in an electronics factory in Oak Harbor, Washington, Configuration Management in China Lake California, Program Management in Oxnard, California and ended in Program Management of International Programs in the Washington DC (DMV) area. Currently, I am retired and spend my days inspiring young people to enjoy STEAM. Okay, enough about me; Go astral my friends, STEAM is fun spread the word.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I don't have the financial assets to contribute to the search, so this I can do. I am excited about the project and hope we will experience communication with other off earth beings before my soul leaves this earth. The only suggestion I have is to try and make this project more exciting to children. They are our future so we should have SETI games, virtual reality videos, Pokemon SETI, mindcraft SETI, etc. February 18-24 2018 is Engineering Week and Feb 22 2018 is Girl Day. I would love for SETI to be part of those events. I have volunteered to host several young boys and girls as I make sure they know how exciting and fun a life in STEAM can be. Spread the word.
