If you think about it, its pretty amazing that there isn't already a Wal-Mart Spaceship or a Mircosoft X1 Flight Engine.

I'm amazed that private (corporate) companies are being so slow to move on this when its been Corporations leading the way on almost all new inventions.

I personally have nothing against Corporate or Private enteties. I am just quite suprised that infact this hasn't been acheived sooner.

Hmm...

Yes I am very pleased to hear that the Berkely folks have all the information they need and so don't really bother with getting new material.

But Its really taken ALL the fun out of letting SETI run on our systems.

I recall the days of competition.. Where I was so close to getting 600 data units. I just HAD to beat the guy infront of me. All that is GONE.

The only think that BOINC allows us to do is... hm... uhm.. Well... NOTHING.

They dont need more data units, the ladder boards and competition is GONE (more or less)... Ok.. So what the hell reason is there to use Seti anymore??

This is an interesting question you've posed.

One can't help but think that we must be somewhere in the "middle of the galactic ladder" for numerous reasons.

This of course going on the concept that there is indeed life outside of our solar system. (That is a different debate all together.)

I can't help but think that we as human beings must be the middle class of the universe. I'm sure the first signs of "ET" to be found will be microbes from an asteroid or collected from samples from another planet or moon.

But then again, there must be "aliens" or "Extra Terrestrials" both larger and taller then our average human being.

At any rate, its an interesting read if you have the time.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know how to transfer user information from our previous Seti accounts into our new seti accounts?

I've completed 520 data units over 4 years with Seti classic. I've also done 20651 hours as well.

I'd like to transfer that information to my new Boinc account but I can't seem to find a way to do it.

Anyone have any suggestions or know how to do this??

Now see yes, this is interesting.

I installed Bonic this morning and have consistantly received
the 'No Work From Project' either.

And further more, just logging on to this message board was very slow.

I imagine the new server must have a HUGE ammount of strain to be acting this poorly.

Anyways, I'll still keep waiting,
