Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There has never been anything more important in the history of human civilization than the pursuit of knowledge in regards to our own existence and being.

Context is the keyword. How can we know who we are as human beings if we do not know the context of which we exsist?

For me, SETI@home is like calling a random number in the Universe just to see if anyone is home... And what a day for humanity it will be when they decide to answer it.

Sure, I guess its about finding extraterrestrial or intelligent life. But more then that, if thats possible, would be the implication that suddenly all the many years of human history and evolution would have a greater galactic context.

If SETI@home can make that which seems improbably or impossible just a little more possible, then its been worth every second of it.
