Any graphics (either the screensaver or the window) runs separately. BOINC itself can be run as service, you just need to select the desired install option during install (BOINC v4.3x and above). Well I sat down and looked at things, I decided to disable setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline and run BOINC on 3 of my 5 computers for 1 week. If I look at it in a week and don't like what I see I'll go back to the old commandline version of SETI I guess what I should have done it tryed it instead of asking a stupid question
