Dodging very large isolated raindrops...!

So... We have a weird murky low level overcast with hints of darker blobs layered above. Nicely warm. And then at random, you can have a big splodge of a raindrop smack you from nowhere.

... Time to make a retreat under shelter before the portent of deluge manifests to plummet from the preternaturally twilight sky!

If only the rain drops here were isolated - they are both big and far from isolated....

Relaxing after fighting to get out of my bed's comfy grip, a lot of the slats at the head end collapsed, they were not screwed down and possibly were not long enough, the box spring's thin metal supports that supported its own bunch of wood slats collapsed into those bed slats under the box spring.

I might have tp remake the bed sheets so the foot becomes the head end and try that.

I also lost 2lbs in weight too, the scale said 476lbs, I had to read it twice.

I've got an all metal box spring ready to replace the old wood and metal one with, just no one to help me do that yet.

Old_ 49.2lbs,
New 48.4lbs.

Winning on a foggy and frosty Thorsday morning where it's 1C (feels like -1C) with 17C again expected.

Anyhow it's time for a coffee.

Cheers.

The mercury here managed to reach 16C (felt like 14C) today, but it's now back to 4C (feels like 2C) with 0C expected in the morning.

Well I did get back to repairing the big hole in the top half of my 1000L IBC today (that I cut in half to make 2 huge wicking tubs) readjusting a few screws for a tighter fit, cutting the ends off all the screws (about 48 of them), reinserting the shell back into its frame and then playing about with a leftover can of crazy foam to fill in the the internal edges and gaps.

Now if the weather plays nice tomorrow I'll find out if the crazy foam has taken hold and then I'll cut and file it out smooth before fitting, but if the foam doesn't work I guess then I'll just have to get some tape to do all those seams with the next time I'm in town.

I also surprised myself by not breaking any skin during the whole process, though I was very wary of all those pointy screws until I cut them off short.

Anyhow it's now time to see how much of day 1 of the 5th test against the Poms I get to see before I crash.

Cheers.

And I'm soon to be experiencing that!

Hey, Victor. I see you passed your adventure quest. Unsticking yourself from the bed. Lol.

Mike, Martin and Rob. If you want dry weather and summer. Come visit me. It is dry and hot here under the “Heat Dome”.

5-6 mins fighting gravity, last night I had to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed , getting up from there is a bit easier, but only a bit, 476lbs while on ones back is not easy to move, playing turtle is not fun, I lost 2lbs recently, my broken bed is going to be fixed on Saturday with a friends help.

I need a little less gravity...

Well I crashed just before the Poms started too as by the time I woke back up they were all out and we were in.

Anyhow I'm now tossing up if it's worth trying to have a nap before the sun comes up.

Cheers.

I know how you feel. My last time stepping on the scales was 436 pounds. It’s been over a year now and God knows what it is now. I have h*ll trying to get off the floor. Murder on the knees before I get my feet under me.

Plus both hips and shoulders and knee joints damaged by an earlier fall and they've not been fixed, plus a stiff back.

I figured out how to get off the mattress, put the pillow at the edge of the mattress, sit as near as possible to the pillow as possible, use the crutch to help swivel with as I go down as the surface is a bit sloped, to get up put the crutch's foot into the mattress so as to get good leverage, swing the legs over the edge of the bed and push on the crutch, it got me off pretty quick. Saturday hurry up and get here.

The Ikea U-shaped steel center support beam & legs will prevent the new box spring from having the problems the old one has.

Right now I'm waiting for a Nurse to show up and again for FedEx(12-4pm), it's 106F outside, UPS has come and gone, my 3 kitties need their food and litter.

Winning with a frosty P.O.E.T.S. Day morning post before the westerly wind hits.

Anyhow it's past time for a coffee so I better get the kettle boiling.

Cheers.

Beaten by fiddly equipment parts and careful checking and a lack of light...

Can all be done and tested and the documents cleared before this Friday is done?...

Well I've got my usual Friday morning tasks out of the way and checked on the work I did yesterday (but I decided to leave the rest of that until tomorrow just to be sure that the foam took hold properly) so I'm now just waiting on the mail lady before heading off for my usual Friday LLB at the pub.

The temp here is also up to 13C (feels like 9C) after a foggy and frosty -3C (felt like -6C) start with 16C being expected today, but it is sunny and nice in it out of that wind which is still increasing in speed.

Cheers.

For a limited time drinks are on me while I take a nap before day 2 of the 5th Ashes Test gets underway on the other side of the world. ;-)

Also the mercury here reached 15C (felt like 11C) today, but it's slowly starting to slide backwards.

Cheers.

I'll go for a win on the drinks later!

So... We very nearly got beaten by the monsoon... But not quite. Testing and fixes and further testing and all scraped in just before the weather closed in.

Documentation is now in progress.

There has been some laughter from the team about finishing that off before end of play today...

And for a little diversion there was also a game of calming down the guard dog as a lorry load of oblivious labourers dreamily blundered through... What off this planet are they smoking on those vapes??!!!... (Can they even still speak any human language?!)

Oh well I'm not going to be able to see out the day's play at the cricket as if I yawn any harder the top of my head might fall off and it's almost 1am anyway and the temp outside drops down to 0C (feels like -3C).

Cheers.
